Sweet Saturday Celebration

IMG_1489 This morning was nice and relaxing.  We woke up and headed over to Mom & Dad’s.  Lexie was being very studious and studying for her dental hygiene classes.  She had this fake mouth that she was practicing on.

IMG_1491 Dad took the kids on a ride on the lawn mower over to the lot to walk around and throw sticks in the stream.  Then they came back over to the house to check the hot tub and pool and make sure they were ready for the party.

IMG_1492 At 11:00 we had a crawfish boil.  But, we don’t really like crawfish, so we used shrimp instead.  It’s so fun b/c you just throw everything in pot and let it cook and then you put tinfoil down on the table and just throw the food right onto the table and you eat it w/ your hands and put butter and BBQ sauce or whatever other condiments you want right on the table!  It was scrumptious and lots of fun.

IMG_1498 Then we went swimming.  But, the pool has cooled down a lot and Dad & the grandkids were the only ones brave enough to go in the pool.  The rest of us opted to go straight to the hot tub instead of the pool.  I didn’t notice Andrew’s face in this picture until I was posting this.  It’s like he’s saying, “Hey, Papa!  Quit paying attention to Autumn…she lives here and you get to see her all the time!  And she’s just showing you a dumb rock”  LOL!  That’s not how he acts at all, but it was just funny to see the expression on his face.  Autumn & Andrew actually got along really well this weekend and the only fights were over the singing fish.

IMG_1501 We had the party in the first place to celebrate Dad & Nicks’ birthdays.  Dad got Nick this shirt, which was so fitting…Instant Ramen; Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.  So true!  Nick could live on Ramen and instant mac & cheese.

IMG_1502 My favorite part was that Lexie & Jon brought up cake from the cake plate.  I get downright giddy over this cake b/c it is that incredible.  I wish I could share a piece of it w/ everyone so y’all would know how truly out of this world it is.

IMG_1505 After swimming, we cleaned up the crawfish boil (so easy, you just gather up the tin foil and throw it away) and then just spent the rest of the day hanging out and watching football.  The kids sat still for about 30 seconds while Dad read them a book, but they wanted to go play w/ the singing fish.  We had to keep telling them the fish was asleep so they would leave it alone.

IMG_1507 We were sitting around the table playing a card game and Nate come home from work and walked in the door wearing this!  LOL!  Andrew wasn’t scared of him at all, but Autumn didn’t like it very much.

IMG_1510 The kids ended out the evening w/ serenading us on the piano.  I am glad that they get along (most of the time) and have each other to do things with.  I have no idea why Andrew’s face looks blue???  I think I have a spot on my camera.  Also, it’s funny how Andrew has on a full track suit and Autumn’s only wearing a diaper.  She loves running around w/out clothes on.

Michelle is going to dental hygiene school as well. From what she says, it's way tough. Good luck to Lexie!
