After the temple, I went & met Dad & Autumn at Chick Fil’A. Mom watched Autumn in the morning for me, but she hasn’t been sleeping well and needed some sleep so Dad took Autumn to get something to eat and let her play on the playground. The place was PACKED! After a while we left and went to Target so we could buy a kite. Dad had also promised Autumn he would buy her a brush of her very own to keep at his house so she didn’t have to keep using Mimi’s. Autumn was so happy w/ the brush they picked out together.
We went to the park to fly our Spiderman kite (Autumn wanted that instead of the princess one). It was such a windy day that our kite kept twisting around and would just dive bomb into the ground. Autumn lost interest pretty quick and headed off to play on the playground.
Autumn has NO IDEA how good she has it. Dad was so cute w/ her and followed her all around the park and would slide down the slides w/ her. He eventually left so he could go check on Mom. Autumn played for a while longer, but it was 2:00 by this time and I knew she must be tired, so I packed her up and took her home.
She went in and laid down w/ a bah bah to take a nap. It was all nice and quiet for about 20 minutes but then I heard some noise in her room. I went in to see what was going on, and she had put on her “princess dress” and was putting on her pink flower socks. She loved spinning around and acting like a princess.
But don’t worry, she also gets to be the “maid/Cinderella side” of being a princess. Dad had her go outside and help him mow the lawn and rake up some leaves and then she swept the garage. One of the drawers in Autumn’s dresser broke and Dad was out in the garage fixing it. I don’t know what we would do w/ out him!
I wanted to get outside and enjoy the nice weather (although it was still windy), so Autumn & I went on a little walk around the neighborhood.
We didn’t get far before I noticed this GORGEOUS stark white tree at our neighbor’s house across the street. Most of the trees have off white or cream colored blossoms. But this tree had pure white blossoms and was just amazing to see. While we were taking pictures, Mrs. B came out to say hi. They are such kind neighbors to us, and I will never forget how they let us come over and swim in their pool all the time when we first moved here. Anyways, Mrs. B told Autumn she could have some of the flowers growing around her house.
She cut Autumn some flowers, and Autumn thought she was pretty hot stuff. They just put in a circular driveway, which will look so great when they get grass put in next week. We are so lucky to have them as across-the-street neighbors.
Here’s the little princess w/ her spring bouquet. She wanted to just hold them and smell them all day, but I finally convinced her that we had to put them in water or else they would die.
The colors of the flowers were so vibrant and beautiful, and the purple hyacinth flowers were incredibly fragrant. It was such a fun and unexpected surprise to come home w/ such festive and beautiful flowers.
The dress I ordered from my friend, Jennifer, came in the mail today and I can’t even begin to describe how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! It is adorable beyond belief and Autumn loved it too and wore it all night. The great thing is that the straps are adjustable, so she will be able to wear it for a long time. This is one of those dresses that I am going to hang onto and hand down to my granddaughters. Jennifer is so talented and I’m so thankful she is willing to share that talent! Check out her blog and etsy shop.
Autumn wanted to watch Frog Princess again (it looks like I”m going to have to break down and buy that DVD for her for Easter). During the songs she kept wanting Papa to get up and dance w/ her so she could spin around in her pretty dress.
Her favorite part was when he would pick her up and spin her around the room. It’s moments like this when all seems right w/ the world and I just try to absorb all the joy and happiness and laughter around me. It’s the little things that mean the most…like watching your friends be sealed for eternity, or flying a kite on a windy day, or enjoying beautiful spring flowers, and dancing around the living room.
