Sunday Dinner

Today we got up and got ready and threw some creamy chicken in the crock pot and then went to church. Autumn was really good and spent most of the time coloring. After church we came home and cooked some noodles and squash to go w/the creamy crock pot chicken. I decided we also needed a cake, so I made some strawberry boxed cake. Autumn was sitting up on the counter “helping me” and I turned around to put the eggs back in the fridge and the oil in the pantry and I turned back around to see this…she had the spatula and wasn’t just licking the batter off the spatula. She was full on eating it out of the bowl!

Maybe that’s the reason my cake turned out like this! A big pile of mush. Or maybe it was the silicon Bundt pan that I tried for the first time. I heard that these rubber-like pans worked just like metal ones, but the cake didn’t turn out well even though I cooked it for the right amount of time and made the cake mix just like it says to. I even tried spreading it out on a pan and put it back in the oven to cook, but that didn’t work either. I also made some cream cheese frosting, but I ran out of powdered sugar, so I used a little bit of regular sugar and it was so gritty and gross. I guess dessert just wasn’t meant to happen tonight.

I am glad we had a lot of food, b/c Nate brought a friend (yes, she’s just a friend and has awesome shoes that I could never pull off) to dinner. Her name is Emily and she was really nice and was cute w/ Autumn. Nick came home after sacrament meeting and scarfed down some food and then rushed back for priesthood meeting. After dinner we watched Pocahontas and then Hercules. It was a nice and relaxing Sunday evening, and I was able to end it by watching Army Wives, which I LOVE!
