We woke up uncharacteristically early this morning (7:00 am) to go say hi to Dad & Aunt Sandy & Uncle Robert before they rode their bikes in the Collin Classic bike ride. They didn’t think we were going to come, but we wouldn’t have missed it for anything.
Uncle Robert & Aunt Sandy called Dad a few days ago and told him they were going to be riding and asked him if he wanted to ride w/ them. They love to ride their bikes in all sorts of races.
They brought him all of this cool gear to wear including the bike to ride and cool padded pants so his butt won’t hurt quite as bad (although it’s going to hurt bad anyways b/c he doesn’t ride a bike very often).
Autumn giving Papa some kisses before he takes off.
She was so happy to be there and even brought her Ariel doll to say hi and good luck on the ride.
I was shocked at how many people were riding. There were people there from all walks of life. They even had a family bike route, so there were little kids out there riding. It was so fun and exciting to be there.
After they took off, Autumn & I walked back to the car to go home, which was parked out in this field. The sky was so gorgeous and dark (this picture doesn’t do it justice). We stopped at 7-11 on the way home to get some gas and then we went in and got a breakfast treat (Autumn got a Slurpee for Slurpee Saturday and I got my favorite…cream cheese & jalapeno taquitos). We came home and watched Thumbelina (Autumn’s choice) and then went over to Mom & Dad’s to get ready for the party at Tyler’s. I even talked Mom into cutting Autumn’s bangs b/c they were getting too long.
We were greeted by Tyler & the kids all dressed up in their Flag Day garb. When we walked in the door, they had patriotic music playing to herald our entrance. Tyler had this funny moustache that all the kids tried on.
Autumn & I made sure to come dressed to impress w/ our festive Flag Day colors.
The food was super good, as usual. Tyler grilled up some yummy gourmet burgers and hot dogs and bratwurst. We also had watermelon, fruit salad, and apple & pecan pie. It was quite the feast.
There were three little baby boys at the party, and it was so fun to kiss on them and get my baby fix. Look at this cute little angel.
After eating, the kids were ready to swim. We swam and then the boys started having contests. There was the best canon ball, best dive, best flip, etc. Then after they got tired of doing that, Tyler didn’t want his party to LAG, so he decided to have a hairiest back contest. I went to take a picture and Tyler said he meant ENTIRE back and pretended to take down his swimsuit, but luckily he didn’t! That would have definitely made it a non-lagging party. Zack won the contest, by the way.
These gorgeous flowers were growing around Tyler’s pool.
After we had enough of swimming, we came in to get dried off. Two of the three babies were asleep in their bouncy chairs and I thought this picture was so funny b/c it looks like they are throwing “gangsta signs” w/ their hands up to their mouths, and we didn’t even pose them like that…they just did it on their own.
“Yo, how you doing hommie?”
Autumn crashed and burned on the way home b/c we had stayed up late last night and got up early this morning, and then have just been having fun all day long. Look at those killer long eyelashes! I'm so jealous!
After going back to Mom & Dad’s house and resting for a while, it was time to party again. Dad took Autumn to a baseball game w/ him, and Mom & Nick & I went to dinner at Jack In The Box (Mom had a craving for the chicken teriyaki bowl). After that, Nick & I went to the theater to meet up w/ Liz & Liberty to see Iron Man 2 for Liberty’s birthday. It was such a GOOD MOVIE! I really liked it a lot.
This picture cracks me up for a few reasons. First of all, I had my big nice SLR camera w/ me, but the battery died and I said, “No worries. I have a back up,” and whipped out my point-and-click camera. Liz just rolled her eyes and said I’m obsessed. Secondly, Nick’s eyes are closed and I noticed when I was putting this picture in this post that his arm around Liz isn’t on her shoulder it’s sticking straight out as if he’s afraid to touch her. I asked him why he didn’t put his arm around her shoulder and he said, “Because she’s not as tall as you and I didn’t know where to put my hand.” LOL! He’s such a good kid. The third reason I love this picture is that Liz had just gotten done telling me that she’s famous.
She said that she and Liberty were at Target the other day and were walking around and a girl came up and started talking to her, and come to find out, she knew who Liz was b/c this girl (sorry I don’t know her name) went to High School w/ my sister and found my blog through her blog and b/c I write about Liz so much she recognized her! What a small world! And Liz was saying that now anytime she goes out shopping she is going to try and look decent instead of just wearing her grungy clothes b/c she’s famous now and people might recognize her! What a crack up she is. And shout out to the girl that knows Lexie and reads my blog and said hi to Liz at Target!!! It was so good to see Liz & Liberty again and spend some time w/ them to celebrate Liberty’s birthday!
