Pampered Princess

IMG_6748 Today at work I got a lot done and then for lunch guess where I went…yep…the Gyro place! I think the reason I like it so much is that it reminds me of Kebapci’s in Slovenija. It’s so flavorful and good and the fact that the owner of the shop is so much fun makes it that much better. Anyways, after work I went and got Autumn and we went straight over to Papa & Mimi’s to see what was going on. Dad said he was going to lay down on the floor to take a nap, but of course that didn’t happen. The kids wanted him to help them “fly” so they could be Superman.

IMG_6751 Lexie was joking around and said it was her turn next. But, Dad told her to get on and he would try. He lifted her up w/ no problem at all.

IMG_6753 Then I jokingly said it was my turn but Lexie took the camera from me and told me to go try and she would take my picture. I told Dad we would just pretend for the picture but he said he could really lift me. I didn’t stay up for very long, but he did lift me off the ground! We were all laughing so hard! He must have legs of steel from all of that bike riding he’s been doing lately.

IMG_6754We went to go get dinner ready (we had potstickers and fried rice), and I went over to set the table and saw that Autumn had laid down on the ground and Andrew was putting her Barbie on her feet like they had done w/ Papa! So cute and just drives home the point that kids are sponges and copy what they see us do.

IMG_6755 Dad went outside to work on replacing the screens on the outside windows. He bought all the stuff to do it himself and it was only $30. If he had paid to have them replaced, it would have been $35 each!!! I love that Dad is such a handyman around the house.

IMG_6761 The kids wanted to swim, so we jumped in and had them jump to us off of the side and Andrew even went off the diving board a few times. After swimming, we went in and gave them a bath. We told them to be cute and put their cheeks together and hug each other but instead, this is what we got…they both put their hands on their cheeks. Mimi had gotten them this little fishing pole w/ fish, so we let them use that in the tub, which they loved.

IMG_6769 Dave & Chris came over to show us the pretty new red CTS that Dave had bought for Pam. It’s like Mom’s car, but I kind of like the bold red color. It’s so nice and luxurious.

IMG_6771 They had also brought their truck so they could take these nice legal chairs we had to Pam’s office. We don’t use these chairs very often, but it was sad to see them go.

IMG_6774Lexie & I had decided yesterday that we would have a Girl’s Night tonight and fix up Autumn by curling her hair and putting some make up on her. She was actually really good and sat still while Lexie put hot curlers in her hair.

IMG_6777

IMG_6779 She even helped out and would hand Lexie the little clip to fasten the curlers into place. Andrew was feeling a little left out, so he came and sat on my lap and we got a picture.

IMG_6781 Here they are once all the curlers were put in. I kept laughing and saying that I felt like we should be on the show Toddlers & Tiaras. Autumn kept doing her "princess smile.”

IMG_6782 After we got her hair set, it was time to move on to make up. First was some foundation and blush.

IMG_6793Next it was time for the eye shadow and we even busted out the eyeliner. She was really good and held still and loved being pampered.

IMG_6795 I think the thing that made the most difference was the mascara. It really made her eyes pop and look at how long it makes her already-long-lashes look!

IMG_6798 Last, but not least, was putting on some “whip-stick.”

IMG_6799 After Lexie put on the “whip stick” Autumn automatically knew to pat her lips together.

IMG_6801I told her to smile so I could see how pretty all of her make up looked and this is what she gave me…the little head-tilt shoulder-lift smile. I have to admit that I love that she is such a girly girl.

IMG_6803 After the hair and make up it was time for fingernails. Lexie let her choose which color she wanted and she went for the candy apple red…my kind of girl!

IMG_6810 I love this picture b/c Autumn has her hands crossed for me to paint her nails and Andrew is over seeing the whole process from over the edge of the chair.

IMG_6815 While Lexie took the curlers out of her hair, she made sure to blow on her nails so they could dry. Is it just a girl instinct to blow on both hands at once? I’ve never showed Autumn that and yet that’s what she did. Such a diva!

IMG_6818We went in to show Mimi how pretty Autumn looked all dolled up. A sad note about today is that we found out Rufio has to have open heart surgery on Tuesday, so please keep her in your prayers!

IMG_6821 After Mimi oohed and aahed, we had to go show Papa. We found him upstairs in the sewing room b/c he was laminating some cards and sending a fax. He loved how fancy she looked.

IMG_6822I LOVE this picture and how you can see her Shirley Temple curls and that she has her hand all spread out on Dad’s arm so he can see how pretty her nails are. She was just soaking up all of the attention.

IMG_6826 I kept trying to get a picture of her w/ her curls, but this was the best I could get b/c she kept wanting to run around and feel how her curls bounced up and down.

IMG_6827 Lexie said she always puts her own hair up in a ponytail at night when her hair is curly so she won’t squish the curls in her sleep. So, we did the same thing w/ Autumn’s hair so it will still look cute tomorrow.

IMG_6829 I liked this picture b/c of the look of surprise on her face and how pretty her make up looks in this picture. I know I’m biased b/c I’m her Mom, but I think she is just adorable!

IMG_6831After we finished all of that, we thought we were done but then we decided to kick it up a notch and go all Toddler's & Tiaras on Autumn & put Lexie’s necklace and earrings on Autumn. Then, I realized that we hadn’t shown Autumn how cute she was, so we made a quick trip into the bathroom so she could see herself.

IMG_6834 The look on her face when she first saw herself was priceless. She just stood there and couldn’t stop smiling at herself.

IMG_6841I think Aunt Lexie is her new favorite person and that Lexie’s in trouble b/c now anytime she comes to visit Autumn might want to have a Diva Dress Up again. That really was cute of Lexie to do and Autumn loved it.

IMG_6839 Pucker up, Princess!

IMG_6837 I would say this was one super successful evening of pure pampering for the princess.

After all the fun and excitement, it was already 10:30, so we called it a night and went to sleep. We slept in Nate’s old room so it was a true sleep over.

I love it! But I think you're going to have to be careful about her when she's a teenager! My Isabella is the same way! Watch out world!

I can barely tell Autumn has makeup on at all because she's already so naturally beautiful! She must get that from your side of the family. :)

I'll keep Rufio in my prayers. Keep me posted.
