Terry The Tarantula

Today was pretty uneventful until we found Terry the Tarantula.  After work, Autumn & I went over to Mom & Dad’s.  We had steak & everything sandwiches for dinner, but I was so sad b/c of my cold I couldn’t taste anything at all.  So all the yumminess of that sandwich was wasted.  Autumn & I had to eat and run b/c I told Christine I would come and help her for a few nights b/c she needed some help.  I went to put Autumn in the car and noticed some movement out of the corner of my eye.

I looked over at the grill where I  had seen the movement and saw this big tarantula spider heading towards us pretty fast.  He was the size of my hand and creeped me out b/c I don’t like spiders.  I got out my camera really fast and luckily he turned and started to go under the A/C unit.  I know this picture is blurry, but it’s the best I could get from being so zoomed in from so far away.  If Dad had been home he could have put Terry in the garden to help eat bugs, but neither Mom or I wanted to go near the spider so we just left him alone.

It was good to see Christine again since I haven’t seen her since she got back from her trip to Korea.  I didn’t feel like I did very much for the 3 1/2 hours that we worked, but she said we had accomplished a lot when we stopped working at 9:30.  Autumn was tired and kept coming in to see what we were doing so we called it a night and I took Autumn home and put her to bed.

Tonight was not my night for spiders, b/c after I got Autumn in bed,  I got ready for bed and went in to use the bathroom.  Luckily, I glanced into the toilet before sitting down, b/c there was a medium sized brown spider INSIDE the toilet and if I had sat down without looking it could have climbed up the side of the bowl and bit me on the leg!  I flushed him down the toilet and am so thankful I looked before sitting!  Hopefully I don’t have any more close spider encounters anytime soon, b/c today was plenty to tide me over for a few months!
