Today at school, Autumn’s class had their Halloween Party. So, she came home w/ a bag of goodies and treats. In one of the bags was this plastic orange spider ring that she put on right away and refused to take off the whole night. I’ve been noticing that she’s been using her middle finger to point at things a lot lately. She obviously has no clue why using your middle finger is a bad thing, but I keep trying to get her to use her pointer finger. So, Dad came up w/ the idea that when she points at something w/ her middle finger we just say, “Where is pointer?”, b/c I taught her the song:
Where is pointer?
Where is pointer?
Here I am.
Here I am.
How are you today sir?
Very well, I thank you.
Run away.
Run away.
Hopefully she’ll catch on soon and start using her pointer finger instead of her middle finger to show me things!
She was in a super silly mood, and letting her have some of her candy after dinner didn’t help matters at all. I kept teasing her and asking if I could have some of her Halloween candy out of her goodie bag from school and she would just laugh and hide it behind her back.
We had dinner and watched the Texas Rangers get beat in their first World Series game. We got home and I decided to check the mail since it’s been a while since I last checked it. There was a package in there from Holly and it contained these ADORABLE felt flowers. She had a giveaway on her blog and I was lucky enough to be one of the winners. She was so sweet and sent one for me and one for Autumn! It’s loving and giving and caring and talented and creative people like her that make our world a better place.
Speaking of making our world a better place, I just finished reading “The Invisible Wall” by Harry Bernstein. It was such a good, yet sad book. Without giving too much of the true storyline away, it’s about a Jewish family that lived in England before/during WWI. On one side of the poverty stricken street live the Jews and on the other side of the street live Christians and they don’t interact w/ each other b/c of the difference in religions. It made me think a lot and made me so thankful for all the blessings I’ve been given, especially that I was born into the family that I’m in. It’s a good book that I would recommend for anyone to read.

So Lisa...I'm thinking maybe Autumn is from Southeast Asia. They point with their middle finger too. It took me months after my mission to stop pointing that way. Now I just use my whole hand so I don't forget.
