Church today was good and Autumn was so excited to wear her Miss Claus dress. She got a lot compliments on it and was soaking up the attention like crazy. We came home and had some sandwiches for lunch w/ Nick & Mom. Then we cleaned up the house a little bit (especially Autumn’s room) b/c it was messy. We went over to Mom & Dad’s so I could use the internet and to watch football together.
Mom said that she was looking for something in the closet the other day and noticed a doll that Dad had bought years and years ago. It has just been sitting in the closet for forever and Mom told Dad he should get it out today and give it to Autumn b/c it matches the dress she’s wearing today. She was overjoyed when she saw the doll and could hardly contain her excitement while I got it out of the box for her.
We had to tell her to be really careful w/ the doll b/c it’s not plastic like her other dolls and she has to take super good care of her doll. She carried it around so sweetly and lovingly.
Of course we had to get a few in by the Christmas tree.
She made sure to tell Papa quite a few times how much she loved her new doll and how happy she was that he gave it to her. Do you think she’s a spoiled and pampered princess or what? She totally has Dad wrapped around her little finger, but I don’t think he minds that a bit.
After we had some creamy crockpot chicken for dinner, Autumn & I went and laid down on Mom & Dad’s bed to watch one of her clay-mation DVD’s she got the other day. We both ended up falling asleep for a while. Mom & Dad’s home teachers came over for a little bit and then Mom & Dad & I watched Behind Enemy Lines b/c it was on TV. I had no idea how bad the Bosnian War was, so I googled it and was so saddened by what I read. I’m thankful that Slovenija only had a 10 day war when they claimed independence from Yugoslavia. War is such a sad thing!
I finally went and woke Autumn up so she’d go to bed tonight. Dad had to go in to one of the clinics b/c he is on back up tonight. Mom & I watched The Biggest Loser: Where Are They Now b/c we didn’t get to see it when it was on earlier this week. It was so tender and I got teary eyed a few times (like when Sam proposed to Stephanie). It was cool that Sione got to go back to Tonga to visit. Autumn & I had to leave b/c our home teachers came at 7:00.
After they left, we made brownies and then watched Wizard of Oz b/c it was on TV. Autumn really liked watching it and kept getting upset when it would go to commercial. We’re so used to having things NOW that it’s hard to be patient sometimes (especially for little 3 1/2 year olds). It was a nice and relaxing way to end the long weekend. We did so much this holiday weekend and had such a great time and created such wonderful memories. I am blessed beyond compare and am so thankful for all I’ve been given.
