Catching Up With Old Friends

I got a text from Alison last night that she is in town visiting family and wanted to know if Liz & Liberty & I wanted to get together.  We decided to meet at Mom & Dad’s house to have dinner and swim.  It was so great to meet Baby Kirra.  She is such a cute and sweet little baby.  I got to hold her and she is SO TINY!  It’s hard to believe Autumn was ever that little.  Anyways, we had Little Cesar’s pizza & Crazy Bread for dinner.  I also steamed some fresh green beans out of the garden and we also had watermelon.  I figured we should have some healthy options to go along w/ our pizza.

We sat and caught up on what’s going on in each other’s lives while we ate.  Then we had to get some pictures (of course) before we went swimming.

This was Kirra’s first time ever to swim.  We felt bad b/c Braulio couldn’t be here (we missed having him here) but we made sure to record it so he could see her first swim.  She did really great and didn’t cry or freak out.  She was shivering for a little bit but soon warmed up and enjoyed being in the water.

Once it started to get dark, we came back inside and watched the Mavs game and made banana splits.  Liz brought nuts and chocolate syrup and caramel sauce.  I had to get a picture of her ADORABLE car seat cover that her sister made for her.  Everyone said they had to leave around 10:00, and I was so sad for the night to end.  It was WONDERFUL to see Alison again.  It’s crazy to think that just a few short years ago we were carpooling to work everyday.  Now she’s married with a baby.  But she’s still just as nice and sweet as ever.  It was a great night.
