Since I talked to my insurance yesterday and told them I would accept their settlement amount for my totaled Durango, they said I needed to go and clean it out so they can have a tow truck come get it and take it to their scrap yard. I had a dentist appt at 8:00 to have the final crown put on my root canal and then I stopped by the repair shop on my way to work. I got a little emotional when I saw the Durango all torn apart like this and missing its bumper. I know it’s just a vehicle, but it was sad to see it all exposed and have to clean it out and say good bye.
I got some good news today, which was nice. The insurance lady from AllState called me back after I left her a nice message on her machine asking/begging if they could extend my rental car just a few more days b/c I’m a single divorced Mom and have to get to and from work. She said that she couldn’t make any promises but would try to get the rental approved through the end of the week. It just goes to show that being nice about things (b/c I could have been hateful and ugly) goes a long way.
Mom & Lexie & Andrew went and got Autumn early from daycare b/c Andrew wanted to play with Autumn. I came home and Curt & Avery had come over for a visit. Curt wanted to hear about Mom & Dad’s trip to Bali b/c he and Mary were there last year to pick up their son, Scott, from his mission. They were swapping stories about what it was like to visit Bali. Autumn loved having Avery here and was playing w/ him for a minute and then ran off to play in the back room w/ Andrew. She was so excited today to wear these cute flower clips that Mom got her in China.
We had hamburgers and corn on the cob and fried zucchini for dinner and Ashley came over to get Avery and she and Curt stayed for dinner b/c we had extras. It’s fun to have such great family and friends sitting around the dinner table together.
After dinner, we got all the dishes and food cleaned up and then Autumn wanted to swim and show Papa & Mimi how good she is doing. I got in the pool w/ her while we waited for them to come out. We waited and waited and waited and they never came out. Come to find out, Dad had fallen asleep on the floor b/c he was so tired and Mom was talking on the phone to one of the aunts. Oh, well. We had fun swimming and then had popsicles for dessert. We found the most hilarious video of this really heavy set guy dancing in a black leotard to Beyone’s “Single Ladies” and said that would be Nate if he gained 200 lbs. All that laughing woke us up and gave us a second wind, so we busted out this puzzle that Lexie & Mom got at Toys’R’Us today. It’s hard b/c the picture on the box isn’t what the puzzle is. It’s a clue as to what the puzzle will be but that’s it! So it’s like doing a puzzle w/ no picture to refer to. We got quite a bit done but then Mom made Autumn & I go home b/c it was getting late. It’s good she looks after us like that, b/c otherwise I could have stayed up all night doing the puzzle. I’m a puzzle addict once I start.
