On the way home from work, Dad called and said he was going to go get Autumn & take her to 7-Eleven for a free Slurpee since today is 7-11. They got there, but all the Slurpee machines were broken. Dad said he got a coupon in the mail for dinner at the new local bowling alley. So, I went and picked Nick up from home and we met Dad & Autumn at the bowling alley. We didn’t bowl b/c Dad was on back up and didn’t want to start a game and then get called in to work. So, we just ate. The coupon was for towering fries, chicken fingers, pizza & 4 drinks for $20. The fries were incredibly good and the dipping sauce was so good we licked the cup clean. It was some type of spiced up ranch. YUM!
The chicken tenders were ok, and the pizza was less than mediocre. It was worse than a frozen bake at home pizza. I really liked the atmosphere and especially the music at the bowling alley. It was top 40’s music that we were dancing and singing along to. The best part was that it was a non-smoking bowling alley. We’ll for sure have to go back some time and bowl and just order fries.
After our tummies were full, we came home and Autumn helped Dad wash his Corvette. She likes riding in it b/c she says it goes super fast. We’ll be driving in our new car and she’ll tell me to go faster. Hopefully she’s not going to “feel the need for speed” when she’s old enough to drive.
After their hard work, they were ready to swim. Dad is trying to teach Autumn how to dive by telling her to keep her arms on her ears and lean forward. She does good until right before she hits the water and then she belly flops. I’m just glad she’s even trying.
Once it started getting darker, we came inside and watched America’s Got Talent. Then I took her home and gave her a bath & she had a bowl of ice cream while I braided her hair so it would be wavy tomorrow. I got her to bed and then went over to Christine’s to watch the Bachelorette. We all got talking and had a lot to catch up on w/ each other since we didn’t get together last Monday b/c of the 4th of July. So, by the time we started watching the show, it was already 10:30 pm! We didn’t get done until 12:20 am and I decided to go to WalMart to get groceries b/c we had no milk or bread, and I needed frozen meals for work so I’m not tempted to eat out. I got home, had Nick help me put the groceries away, and finally climbed into bed at 1:00 am.
I know I say this all the time, but I truly love getting together to watch the Bachelorette. We were talking about how we don’t even like this season, but we still get together to watch it b/c it’s more about getting to see each other and having girl’s only time. We were saying that we need to find another show to watch after the Bachelorette is over. Most of the time I just sit and listen instead of talking, but it’s so worth those late Monday nights and being tired on Tuesday morning.
