The One Where We Meet Nick’s Date

I started reading a new book at work today called Switched.  It’s pretty good so far and is an easy read.  After work/school, we went over to Mom & Dad’s house and Mom was cooking up a storm.  Nick had invited Sariah (the girl he went on the date with lat night) over to have dinner and swim.  Curt stopped by to say hi and bring us some cantaloupe from their garden.  It was so sweet and juicy and flavorful.  Autumn was giving him snuggles and showing him something she colored at school.

Sariah is a sweetie from what I could tell.  She and Nick have a lot in common and it was cute to see them talking together and getting to know each other.  Everyone went out to swim after we ate, and I am kicking myself that I didn’t get any pictures but my ‘roids were hurting so bad that I couldn’t even stand up and walk.  I spent the whole evening in one spot on the couch and played games on the iPad.

Nate got home this afternoon and we’re so glad he gets to spend some time with us before he goes 1/2 way around the world.  A guy in his graduating class was selling this flat screen TV for $200 b/c he couldn’t take it w/ him so Nate asked me if I wanted to buy it.  I said yes, so he brought it home and I set it up in my room.  The picture looks a little grainy b/c I don’t have HD, but it’s a huge step up from my old TV.  Sometimes when I would hit mute on the remote, the TV would turn off and then sometimes when I changed the volume, it would change the channel.  I got Autumn to bed and then watched the last little bit of Eat, Pray, Love.
