Saturday Part 1 ~ Crafting

IMG_3043 About a month ago, I signed up for “Super Saturday” which happens about once every six months.  It’s a chance to get together w/ the ladies at church and do various crafts.  I signed up for way too much, but it was such cheap prices (all we had to do was pay for the material).  I took Autumn over to Mom & Dad’s this morning at 8:45 and was at the church by 9:00.  I did all my painting projects first, b/c I knew those would take a long time to dry.  Then I went and did my other craft projects while the paint dried.  I made 3 of these temple blocks, which I think are so neat looking b/c of the old fashioned treatment of the photos.  This is the Salt Lake Temple for Autumn’s room.

IMG_3042 This is the Dallas Temple.  I’m debating if I want to attach the bows to these or not.  The other one I did was the San Diego Temple b/c it looks like a castle to me and I think it’s so pretty.

IMG_3034 They had these washers and metal letters where you hold the letter over the washer and use a hammer to pound the letter into the washer.  Then, you color in the letters w/ a black sharpie marker to make the letters stand out and then you scrub off the excess marker that gets on the outside of the lettering.

IMG_3036 This was the first project I started when I got there, b/c I had to put 3 coats of red paint.  The wording is just vinyl and we drilled a hole and hung the chalk board.  So cute, huh?

IMG_3038 Liz had signed up to make one of these b/c I wanted her to come w/ me, but she ended up having to work today.  So, I made up hers and also did mine.  This only took 2 coats of black paint and then you add the vinyl lettering and metal board for the magnets to hold the pictures onto.  Simple, yet cute.

IMG_3091 It was already 1:00 by the time I finished all of those projects, so I just had to get the instructions and come home and make all of these on my own.  They were simple to make, b/c I am not a sewer yet I was able to whip all of these out in just a few hours.  I think they’re so cute.

IMG_3030Autumn had such a good time getting to go swimming and getting to play w/ Dad.  I made myself a sandwich and had some chips for lunch, b/c I was so hungry.  They sat on the couch and had a tickle fest while I worked on my flowers.  Mom got home from her facial appointment that someone had given her a gift certificate for 3 years ago, and then we made dinner.
