Costco Costs

P1030027Today after I picked Autumn up from college, we got right back on the highway and went to Costco.  We got dinner first b/c we were super hungry and it’s never a good thing to go shopping (especially at Costco) when you’re hungry.  I got the Caesar salad, Autumn got the slice of pizza, and we shared the drink.  I also got a carne asada bake to see if it was any good and I figured we could share our left over food w/ Nick.  The carne asada bake was good, but not something I would get every time I go to Costco.  Autumn picked this table to sit at b/c it had an umbrella.  I love eating at Costco b/c this whole meal only cost $11 and we had a lot of left overs to take home.

P1030030 I have a love/hate relationship w/ Costco.  I love it b/c they have such great items for such reasonable prices, but I hate it b/c I always spend more money than I should there.  I went in just to get a big bag of broccoli and a box of individual cups of hummus.  They didn’t have the individual cups of hummus, and I still ended up spending more than $50!  I got these Dryer’s fruit bars b/c they’re only 80 calories each and in the afternoon at work I just need a treat.  I tried a strawberry one when we got home and it was SO GOOD!

P1030029 We got home from Costco and put all our groceries away and then relaxed for a while.  Dad stopped by on his way home from work to say hi.  We bought this box of mangos, so Dad & Autumn shared a “flamingo.”  That’s what Autumn calls mangos for some reason. Dad had to get home b/c it was getting late and early morning seminary started today and he was really tired.  After he left and I got Autumn to bed, I was flipping channels and landed on Toddlers & Tiaras.  The were a little girl on there named Kailia and I loved that name.  I’ll have to keep it in mind for when I have another girl someday.

I didn’t watch that show very long, so I switched over to The Great Food Truck Race.  They were in Salt Lake City and I almost started crying when they drove past Sugar House Park, the SLC Temple, the Gateway, and a few other major Salt Lake landmarks.  And let’s not even mention the mountains!  Oh, those majestic mountains!  SNIFF! SNIFF!  I miss Utah so much and that just made the aching so much deeper.  Anyways, it was a pretty uneventful Wednesday, but we have a fun weekend planned…including a road trip.
