Going Above & Beyond Friendship Duties

IMG_3154 Yesterday at work I finished reading “Torn”, which is the 2nd book in the Switched series.  The books are good so far, but not great.  At least they help the day go by faster b/c the phones have been really quiet.  I haven’t seen Liz in a while and so we decided to hang out tonight.  I went and got Little Caesar’s pizza & crazy bread for dinner since we have no food in the house.  It was weird, b/c they didn’t have any hot-n-ready pizzas ready so I had to sit and wait for one.  Oh, well.  Poor Nick was out mowing the lawn in this 106 degree heat (which doesn’t include the heat index) but that’s b/c he spent all day watching a new Anime movie that just came out.  I told him he’s crazy and could pass out from heat stroke.

IMG_3155 Dad & Nate came over earlier today and dropped of the couches from Mom & Dad’s living room at my house b/c they’re getting new furniture tomorrow.  I am keeping the floral print furniture until next month, b/c I’m giving it to a girl in my ward who is moving into her own apartment.  So, we’ll just have 2 couches and 2 love seats for a while.

IMG_3156 We watched America’s Got Talent and felt SO BAD for the Kinetic King and that his stuff didn’t work.  He spent 36 hours putting it all together and then it fell flat.  Poor guy!  My favorite at of the night was the iLuminate group.  I would pay money to see them in Vegas.  During a commercial break, Liz offered to paint Autumn’s fingernails and Autumn thought she was hot stuff.

IMG_3158 But, Liz went above and beyond friend duties when she let Autumn paint HER nails!  I wish I could have capture the look on Autumn’s face when Liz said that she could paint her nails.  Her eyes lit up and started sparkling and she got the most adorable shy smile on her face.  It made my heart so happy as a mother and made me appreciate Liz even more than I already do as a friend.  What a small and selfless thing to do, yet it made Autumn feel like a million bucks.  She made sure to be very careful and try not to get any on Liz’s skin.

IMG_3160 When Autumn was done, I made them show me how pretty their nails were.

IMG_3161Autumn told her they had to go both stand in front of the fan so that their nails could dry, b/c that’s what I make her do after I paint her nails.  I love the big huge grin she’s giving Liz.  After AGT was over, Liz went home and I put Autumn to bed since it was already 10:00!  How did it get so late so fast?  It was wonderful to see Liz again and talk with her about what’s going on in her life.  I told her she has to come see The Help w/ me on Wednesday night when it comes to theaters.  I love having her here and being around her.  Good times!
