Today I found out that my bosses are going to be gone for the rest of the week to a meeting. I got my work done and then sat and read “Ascend”, the 3rd book in the Amanda Hocking trilogy. So far it’s good. After work/school, we went over to Mom & Dad’s house and walked in to see that their living room looks a lot different. They got 2 new couches (no love seat) and a rocking chair. They also took the big wagon that held all of our blankets out of the living room so it looks much more open and clean.
Autumn was like Goldilocks and had to go around and try all the seats. I like these a lot b/c they’re so soft and comfortable. Mom’s favorite part is that they look like leather, but they’re really microfiber so you won’t stick to them in the summer and they won’t be cold in the winter.
Autumn finally found the chair that was “just right” for her. It’s the rocking chair that reclines back. All of the seats recline except for the set in the middle of the couches. I am so excited to take Sunday naps in these chairs and watch football in style and comfort! We had dinner and then spent the rest of the evening just hanging out and watching TV. Autumn keeps wanting to go swim, but the pool still isn’t fixed so I keep telling her we can’t.
Here is where the “Hodge Podge” part of this blog title comes in:
I will have to go through and scan some of my old pictures to find a picture of the “castle” we used to live in. My Dad sent me an email with THIS LINK to the Salt Lake County Archives. This is what he sent me in the email, which I think is pretty cool:
When we lived in Salt Lake we had the original title documents for the "Nibley Castle". When we sold that home we had kept the abstract of title. It went back to 1874 when the land was given to George Calder (a civil war hero) by Pres. Ulysses Grant. I found those in our records a few months back and felt like they needed to be preserved. I contacted the Salt Lake County archives and donated the records to them. They have a blog and it has a neat little entry about the records being donated and I thought you may be interested in looking at it. It was kind of fun to see and maybe you will find it interesting too since you lived there!!!
I just heard this song “Stereo Hearts” on the radio tonight and LOVED it instantly and it made me think of Nate, b/c he likes Adam Levine so I called him and told him he has to listen to it. You can listen to “Stereo Hearts” HERE and tell me if you think it’s as good and catchy of a song as I do.
