Sweet Skunks

IMG_3147 Today after work/school we headed straight to Mom & Dad’s house.  Autumn was so excited about the surprise Dad had for her in the pool bathroom.  The faucet has been dripping for a long time no matter what we’ve tried, so Mom had him replace it.  They replaced it w/ a water spout like Aunt Sandy has, and we LOVE it!  I love the old fashioned water pump look of it.

IMG_3149 Nate had requested a shrimp boil a few days ago, so we invited Monzingos over and chowed down.  Dad insisted on having it outside b/c it’s messy.  But Mom insisted on having it inside b/c it’s 108 degrees outside and we can’t swim in the pool to cool off, so she won.  I’m glad we were able to sit inside w/ the air conditioning.  That way we were able to sit around and visit after we ate.

IMG_3150 For dessert, the kids had cookies-n-cream ice cream and Mom & Maggie & I had this.  It was INCREDIBLE!  It was sugar free and fat free vanilla pudding w/ Truvia sweetened whipped cream & crushed up berries.  Maggie made it and we will definitely have to recreate it.

IMG_3152 Autumn & I went to leave to go home and I noticed 2 black cats walking on Mom & Dad’s front lawn.  Then I noticed they both had a white stripe down their backs!  It was two baby skunks.  They walked across the neighbor’s driveway and went and hid in these bushes.  You can see a little bit of one of them towards the left/bottom of the picture.  They were SO CUTE when we got to see them walk across the driveway, but I didn’t have my camera out in time.  We made sure to keep our distance and not scare them b/c they can still spray you.  Our neighbor’s across the street came over to see what we were looking at and said they had seen some the other day and she thinks they are living under her deck!

We got home and I gave Autumn a hug and kiss and told her I had to go to my “Mommy Meeting.”  Nick put a movie on for her and I went over to Christine’s at 8:30 b/c we had 3 shows to watch.  First, we watched Bachelorette: The Men Tell All.  I was laughing so hard when they were making fun of Ames being a robot b/c they hit the nail on the head w/ that one.  I was shocked at how rude Ashley’s sister was towards JP during the Finale, but I’m glad that Ashley picked JP in the end.  I thought it was completely cruel of Ashley to let Ben get down on one knee and stay there for a few seconds before she told him he’s not the one.  I am glad he was mad at her and didn’t just sugar coat how he felt.  It was also so mean of the producers to put him in a boat that drove right past Ashley and that JP was flying overhead and must have seen Ben in the boat.  Talk about rubbing salt into an open wound!  That was so unnecessary.

I thought that on “After The Final Rose” show that JP was going to be upset w/ Ashley for being too touchy w/ Ben and rubbing mud all over him and them presumably sleeping w/ him that night.  I hope they are truly happy and can stay together.  I was glad to see Ashley’s sister apologize and support them.  I had a rip roaring headache about 1/2 way through the Finale at my left temple and as soon as I got home at 1:00 am, I took some Tylenol and went right to bed.  We debated on whether or not we wanted to keep getting together on Mondays and watch the Bachelor Pad, b/c it looks way too skanky but we want to still see each other every week.   So, we’ll have to see.
