YAY For Hand-Me-Downs & Paying It Forward

Today at work I finished reading “Ascend” and the trilogy was OK, but not great.  I was annoyed w/ how the main character couldn’t make up her mind what she wanted and just kept running away from people.  The author didn’t explain things very well and really develop the characters.  Oh, well.  After work, Autumn & I went over to Mom & Dad’s.  Mom has been wanting square dishes for a really long time and finally found the ones she wanted for a good price and bought some today.  She & I made lettuce wraps for dinner while Nate & Nick & Autumn watched Rio.  I really like her new square dishes…

…especially b/c I got her old ones!  I have 3 different sets of dishes (white, 70’s yellow and palm tree).  So, I am going to save those and give them to the girl in my ward that’s going to take my old couches.  It’s nice to inherit Mom’s hand-me-downs, b/c they’re nice and well taken care of.  And, it’s nice that I can pay it forward by passing on my things to someone that needs them.

We watched Project Runway, and I felt so bad for the Mormon guy that got sent home.  And I did NOT agree w/ the judges pick for the winner.  I thought the seed dress was by far the best, not that doggy bedding top.  Yuck!  I put Autumn to bed and stayed up until 11:00 watching the end of My Best Friend’s Wedding and then the last part of Eat, Pray, Love.  I love that movie so much b/c of all the places she traveled and the people she met and the lessons she learned (and if I’m being honest…the whirlwind romance and love of her life that she found).
