Autumn got to come into work with me today. Her “college” was closed for teacher inservice and Dad was going to watch her but he had a meeting he had to go to and Nick had to work and Mom is still in Austin. So, I had no other choice but to take her to work. Luckily I have laid back bosses and they were leaving early anyways to go hunting so they didn’t mind. I brought movies for her and let her watch them on my laptop in her “own office.” She got bored of watching movies on the laptop and needed something to do so I printed off some animal coloring pages for her. I went in to check on her and she had her feet propped up on the desk like this. What a kid…living the high life.
Dad got done with his meeting and came down to my office at noon. We went over to Market Street so I could have Dad try the paninis and sweet potato fries. Autumn wasn’t very hungry b/c she had a doughnut when Dad came over this morning after seminary, then she had a bowl of yogurt with 1/2 a cup of grape nuts mixed in, and then while we were at my work she ate 2 more doughnuts! She must be going through a growing spurt.
Dad took her home w/ him while I went back to work. It was really quiet since it’s a holiday weekend so I answered the phone whenever it rang and in between I watched 2 episodes of Project Runway. Mom got home from Austin this afternoon and I called on my way home from work to see what the plan was. Mom said she didn’t feel like cooking and wanted me to stop and pick something up for dinner. So, I stopped at McDonald’s and got Autumn a Happy Meal. They messed up and gave me the boy toy instead of the girl toy.
Then I went to Whataburger to get Dad & I some type of yummy juicy hamburger that they are always advertising on TV. However, their menu looked plain and boring w/ no special looking burgers. Not to mention, it took about 10 minutes for them to bring me my food, which is a long time for a drive through.
Then Mom wanted a Jack in the Box teriyaki bowl. I also ordered some curly fries b/c they are the best. I got home and found they had given me regular fries instead of curly fries! Yuck! I wasn’t impressed w/ any of the restaurants b/c they all got something wrong. I guess that’s what we get for eating out.
It is SO GOOD to have Mom home. I am glad she got to go and help out Lexie & Jon, but it’s nice she’s back. We just vegged the rest of the evening and caught up on some shows we had recorded like Project Runway (even though I had watched them at work). Autumn & I came home and I stayed up with Nick to watch Whose Line. Funny stuff!
