Papa Is A Community Helper

P1030492Autumn got a special surprise from Papa today (in addition to getting doughnuts in bed for breakfast).  He went to her “college” at 10:00 and talked about being a doctor.  This month they are studying community helpers and her teacher had sent home a form asking if any parents wanted to come in and talk about their jobs.  So, Dad went in and even took little goodie bags for the kids that had a tongue depressor, band aids, ear speculum, little gauze pads, and a sucker.  Autumn loved having him there and felt special.

For dinner, we just ate at our house b/c Dad was at work.  But, he joined us when he finished at the clinic.  We had pigs in a blanket and grilled stir fry veggies b/c they’re fast to make and we were hungry.  Autumn watched Thumbelina and then wanted me to put on music so she could dance.  She disappeared into her room and came out wearing a new outfit and this tutu.  She kept going back into her room and coming out carrying blankets and pillows.  I was sitting at the dining room table working on my Project Life and went in the living room to see that she had lined up her blankets and pillows around the edge of the rug.  I took a picture, and she didn’t want me to take one (which is why she’s making that face in this picture).

She asked me to put on a movie, and she picked the claymation version of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.  Such a random pick, but that’s what she wanted.  After it was over, it was time for bed so I put her to bed and then called Sis. Brenner to ask her about some stuff I couldn’t remember from the MTC, so I could journal about them in Project Life.  It was so good to talk to her, b/c I haven’t talked to her in a long time.

I ended up staying up until 1:30 am b/c I was working on Project Life.  Sometimes my OCD is a good thing, and sometimes it’s bad for my health.  LOL.  But I am just so excited about getting all my mission pictures and journaling in one place so I will actually get out the book and look at them instead of them sitting in a box at the back of my closet.
