This morning we got up and had some breakfast, and then cranked some tunes and FINALLY put away the Christmas tree and decorations. Autumn was a good little helper and was so careful w/ everything. After that I vacuumed up all the pine needles and while I had the it out, I vacuumed the whole first floor of the house. Then I cleaned my bathroom b/c I was on a roll. It’s nice to have nothing planned on a Saturday so I can get things done. After all of that, I rewarded my efforts with watching the last 2 episodes of Season 1 of Downton Abbey. I wish I could explain how incredible it is. As my friend Sarah N. said, “Mr. Bates is the new Mr. Darcy” and I couldn’t agree more.
By this time, it was past noon so we Autumn & I got cleaned up and then went to Target and then the Dollar Store to get a few things. We went over to Mom & Dad’s house to see what Dad was up to since Mom’s still in Austin. We just had sandwiches & chips for lunch and then I watched the 2nd season, episode 1 of Downton Abbey. Autumn wanted to ride her bike around so I went outside with her. I asked if she wanted to ride her bike down the driveway but she just wanted to ride it around the patio table. It started to get cold, so we came inside and she colored in her new coloring book for a while.
For dinner I made parmesan chicken & squash and it was really tasty and just as good as Mom would have made, if I do say so myself. I got dinner cleaned up and then Autumn asked if I could play some music on my phone. She & Papa were cuttin’ a rug and having a blast. Dad got called into the clinic and Autumn fell asleep next to me on the couch, so I started watching episode 2 online. It was so nice to have a quiet house for a little bit. I was so engrossed in episode 2 that I didn’t realize it was already 9:30. So, when Dad got home from work he wrapped Autumn up in a blanket and carried her out to the car for me.
I came home and got Autumn back to sleep, started a load of laundry, and blogged. I am excited for tomorrow night since a new episode of Downtown Abbey will be on PBS. I tried searching for it so I could record it, but it never brought anything up. I found it listed as “Masterpiece” and made sure to record the series, just for those of you who might want to start watching it.
