I’ve already started noticing that the evenings are getting lighter here, but still not light enough outside for me to take pictures of my PL by the time I get home from work. So, these less than stellar pictures will just have to work for now. I will have to find a less busy background next week to photograph the book against. Here’s my week 3 layout w/ out my insert for the week.
I used collages for the bottom 2 pictures. The one on the left is a picture of Autumn & I on the day she was born and then a picture of us now, 5 years later. The one of the right is of when we baked bread for a Young Women’s activity.
I used another Picasa-made collage for the top left hand picture b/c I had 3 pictures I wanted to include. I didn’t do the journaling for Sunday yet b/c I need to look up the recipe for the homemade chocolate chip cookies I make so I can include that.
I did an insert this week using
Design C b/c it was Autumn’s birthday. I put 5 pictures on the front and used a large journaling card for the 6th spot. In the middle picture I did another collage of 3 pictures of Autumn playing at the park.
Yep, you guessed it…another collage for the bottom right hand picture. It’s a great way to include lots of pictures of the same thing (Autumn painting her nails w/ some new polish she got) in a 4x6 slot.
As you can see, I used the #1-5 stickers to write down a few little lines about each picture on this page (and did the same thing on the other side). Sometimes I do that and sometimes I just tell the big picture of the day w/ out worrying about writing something for each picture. But, since it was her 5th birthday I decided that would be great to use the 5 stickers for the 5 pictures and keep that theme going.
I wanted to share an awesome thing I found for the title page of my album. I was flipping through a magazine that came in the mail and I noticed a page had these pictures and words already on it. I knew I had to use it in my Project Life album. So, I just traced one of the core kit 4x6 title cards on the back of the page and cut it out and slipped it into the pocket. I’m always on the look out for fun things like this that I can incorporate into my album.
I also wanted to share something else that I added to my album. Last week I was struggling w/ how to help Autumn learn her letters. Then the very next day I read an
incredible blog post by Glennon called “Don’t Carpe Diem.” I decided to print the post off and put it in my Project Life album just b/c it had such an impact on me. I love that I can add things that are meaningful to me into my Project Life.
