We didn’t go over to Mom & Dad’s tonight b/c they went to see a movie. So, I stopped and got Little Caesar’s for dinner b/c it’s such a cheap yet good way to feed all 3 of us. When we got home, there was a surprise package waiting for Autumn. Mom had ordered a few Barbie dolls for a great deal and Autumn’s came in the mail today. It’s a Puppy Water Park.
So, after dinner we went in Nick’s bathroom to try it out. I didn’t notice when I took the picture, but I noticed when I was putting it in this blog post that there’s a perfect drop of water w/ ripples in the tub. The Barbie is fun b/c she squirts water and the waterslide and waterfall actually work when you fill the little box behind the pink house and pull the pink flag. We had fun playing w/ it.
I had to leave for Young Women’s and Nick was nice enough to watch Autumn for me. We had a YW combined activity and the Beehives were in charge and we played Human Battleship. They put up the volleyball net and clipped blankets to it so neither side could see each other. The first time we played it, the girls sat in groups of 4 or 3 or 2 just like the real game of battleship. Then a person from the other team would throw a ball over the net and if they hit someone, it was like putting a peg in the ship. Once all the people in that “ship” were hit, they were out. This is the 2nd time we played it and everyone was their own ship and we had them lay out spread eagle so the game wouldn’t take so long. It was a lot of fun and they had bowls of fresh mixed fruit for dessert.
I came home and put Autumn to bed and tidied up the kitchen and then started a load of laundry. I got some blogging done while watching Downton Abbey. I worried that I wouldn’t want to watch it a second time since it’s a series and not a movie (like Sense & Sensibility or Pride & Prejudice which I could watch over and over and over). However, I was wrong and it’s just as good (if not better) the 2nd time around. Although, I do have to watch it w/ the closed captions on b/c sometimes I can’t understand what they’re saying. I know a show is worth it’s salt if I want to watch it a 2nd or 3rd (or in this case 20th) time. I’m hooked.
