This morning Autumn & I slept in, which was nice. She asked to watch Downton Abbey while she played w/ her dolls and we snuggled on the couch. I worked on my spreadsheet for figuring out which POTD (picture of the day) I wanted to use for my 2010 PL. Then we finally got dressed and ready to go for the day. We went over to Mom & Dad’s b/c Lexie & the boys were driving up to spend a few days. Autumn has been counting down the days on the calendar for when they would get here.
They got here and Autumn & Andrew went straight into the back room to play. I was backing up my pictures from my laptop to my external hard drive, and then backed them up onto Mom & Dad’s external hard drive. Lexie and I were talking and catching up while that was doing it’s thing and I started telling her about Downton Abbey. She said she wanted to see it b/c I made it sound so good. I warned her that it’s addicting and each episode is an hour and there’s 7 episodes on the first season. But, we started watching anyways and of course she was hooked right away. We pretty much spent the rest of the day watching Downton Abbey w/ breaks here and there to feed the kids or take a potty break.
Dad took the kids outside when he got home and they tried flying kites in the backyard, but it wasn’t windy enough. So, he did some yard work while they rode their bikes up and down the driveway.
After a while, the kids came running in the house to show us something Papa had discovered. It was a big, fat, juicy, wiggly worm. We were so shocked that Andrew was holding it, b/c he usually doesn’t like dirty things in his hands.
Autumn wanted a turn holding it, too. I love that she’s holding a worm while wearing a pink jacket and pink Barbie helmet…that’s my type of girl. She likes to be girly, but isn’t afraid to be outside and get dirty and have fun and try new things.
This is pretty much how we spent the whole day. It was nice to just relax and stay hydrated. I am glad that I just have a cough and sniffles instead of a fever or the full blown flu. We stopped the show to make taco salad for dinner and it was so good and hit the spot. We haven’t had that in a long time, and will have to put it back into the dinner rotation.
We had the kids put on the PJ’s and put on Wall-E for them. I didn’t realize how late it was, but it was already 10:00 when we finished season 1. So, Lexie & I put the kids to bed (Autumn & I slept in one of the guest rooms) and then Lexie & I stayed up until 3:00 am watching Season 2! But, now she’s all caught up so we can watch the new episode tomorrow night. I can hardly wait.
