This morning we got up and I told Autumn there was a Valentine’s Day surprise in the living room for her. I just had a few things laid out on the “love” seat for her. I got these 2 dresses & pair of pants for her at the kids’ consignment store on Saturday for a great deal. I also gave her a Utah truffle bar b/c she loves them and used the “I Love You” balloon from her birthday. Nothing fancy, but just a little something.
When I got into work, this was sitting on my desk! I couldn’t get over how cute and thoughtful that was for my boss to do. He said he thought it was a good fit since I work for a remodeling company. It made my day, and the chocolate was super good.
I found this dress at WalMart on the clearance rack and it was $10 and was marked down to $5, but rang up for just $1!!! Autumn wore it to “college” today for her Valentine’s Day Party. Mom & Dad are the best ever and stopped at the $1 store to get some little treats like pencils and cars (for the boys) and rings (for the girls) and went to the party for a little bit. They said it was pure chaos and the kids were having a blast. I can’t even express how thankful I am for them and going to be there for Autumn when I couldn’t b/c of work.
After work/school, we went over to Mom & Dad’s house and had steaks and asparagus for dinner. Mom said they were on sale, and I’m glad she got them b/c it was so good. Autumn said after dinner that she wanted to take a picture of us. This is what she did, and she did really well b/c she didn’t cut off our heads.
We had to stop at WalMart on the way home to get some groceries. She saw this sign as we walked in and wanted me to get a picture of her standing by it. We got our shopping done in 30 minutes, b/c we have it down to a science. She is such a good helper and I love shopping w/ her. She always asks if she can scan something on the price check machines in the store. We came home and I put the groceries away and then it was already time for bed.
After I put her to bed I watched Parenthood (I’ve missed seeing that show and am glad they have new episodes again) and blogged.
Some single/divorced people are bitter about Valentine’s Day, but I have no reason at all to be bitter. It’s true that I don’t have anyone to share romantic love with, but I have every other type of love and that’s what I focus on. I have the love of my family, my friends, people at church, from Autumn, and most importantly from my Heavenly Father. I am loved beyond measure and hope I show that love in return.
