Weird Food Combos & Teacups

Autumn & I got up this morning and had some breakfast and then she colored while I cleaned my bathroom.  It was so nice to shower and be clean after working up a sweat and feeling dirty from the grime of cleaning.  Sis. Lee came over at 10:30 and we ended up talking for 2 hours about different things.  We both love the Young Women so much and it was great to talk about ways we could help them.

Autumn was such a good girl while I was having my meeting.  She watched a Barbie movie in my room and then when it was over she came out and said she was hungry and we needed to eat some lunch.  I love the honesty of kids.  After Sis. Lee left, I asked Autumn what she wanted for lunch and of course she said McDonald’s.  I had a coupon for a free kid’s meal w/ the purchase of a value meal.  The place was packed and there wasn’t any room to sit in the play area.  So, we went and sat at this cute cafe type table.  I always give her the top bun of my Big Mac.  Today she put her french fries on the bun and put some ketchup and folded it in 1/2 like a sandwich.  She is for sure her Papa’s granddaughter…making a sandwich out of anything.

Then, if that wasn’t weird enough she started dipping her apples in ketchup!  I didn’t freak out and tell her that was nasty (even though that’s what I was thinking), and just asked her if it tasted good and she said it did.  She takes after Uncle Nick on that one, b/c he is a ketchup lover.

After we finished eating, we hopped in the car to go to the local Goodwill.  I have been wanting to get some mismatched teacups and a teapot since we had a tea party at Aunt Sandy’s last year.  We hit the jackpot today and found 5 of these teacups w/ matching saucers for just $3 each.  I didn’t notice it when we were at the store, but on the bottom of the dishes it says they are from Bavaria, Germany!  That was a fun thing to discover since we used to live in Germany.

We also found 2 of the floral plates at the top for just $1 each.  I figured those would be fun to put some cupcakes or treats on when we have a tea party.  Autumn picked out the blue teacup and saucer at the bottom of the picture for just 60 cents.  We did pretty good if you ask me.  Now I just need to find a teapot.  We stopped at one more consignment store on the way home, but it was GHETTO and we didn’t find anything there.

We went to Mom & Dad’s house to let Emma out to go potty since Mom & Dad had gone to visit Uncle Robert & Aunt Sandy.  We watched a movie and Autumn snuggled up next to me on the couch and I told her to lay her head down and I played w/ her hair and next thing I know, she had fallen asleep.  It looks like I need some sleep, too!

We came home and I was so happy to find that my package from the giveaway I won on Thursday was already here!  These are the beautiful bookmarks and magnets that I picked out.  I am so excited to share these w/ the YWomen in my ward.  I put my magnet up on the fridge as soon as I opened the package.  Again, I am so thankful for talented people who share those talents!
