When we woke up this morning, we couldn’t believe that the kids actually stayed in the living room the whole night. I was fully expecting Autumn and/or Andrew to come climb in bed w/ us. They’re so stinkin’ cute when they’re asleep.
Mom was up early b/c she had a nail appointment at 8:00. We teased her about not having on any green for St. Patrick’s Day so she grabbed her diet Mtn Dew and stuck a green spatula in her shirt. LOL! Dad ran upstairs and was able to find a cute little shamrock pin in Mom’s craft closet. Lexie & I were joking that you can find ANYTHING in there, and that’s true more often than it’s not.
For breakfast the kids were surprised when we showed them that the naughty little leprechauns had turned the waffle batter green. Poor Andrew was SO UPSET that the waffles were green. It really pushed him over the edge when we poured the juice and it was green too. He had real tears going on! He tried eating the waffle but it made him gag and almost throw up. Poor guy! I guess we’ll have to tell those naughty little leprechauns not to do that next year. Luckily Papa was able to make some regular colored waffle mix that the leprechauns hadn’t gotten to yet.
Even the toilet water had been turned green! Those naughty little leprechauns! Andrew refused to use the restroom until the water was a normal color. Autumn was loving it and Andrew was hating it.
Autumn wanted to practice her letters and counting on her Barbie computer. She was also multi-tasking and was entertaining Jackson at the same time. It was a picture perfect moment when they were all laying on the floor together. I said too bad Jackson didn’t have his feet up in the air, too. So Autumn being the cute little nurturing bug that she is reached over and held Jackson’s feet up in the air for teh picture.
Mom called and said she was almost done w/ her nails and for Lexie & I to get dressed and ready b/c she was going to treat us to a little pampering. I already had a nail appointment set for 10:00 so Lexie got dressed and as soon as Mom got home we headed off. Mom was a sweetheart and paid for my nail fill and paid for Lexie to get a pedicure! She’s so nice and kind and thoughtful. After we were done, Lexie & I ran to Market Street to get a penne dolcelatta and we scarfed it down in the car since Mom can’t have pasta and we didn’t want to make her feel bad.
Not long after we got back, Lexie & the boys packed up to head home. We were sad to see them go b/c it’s so fun when they’re here. Dad left to go to work and Mom left to go shopping for some long pants for their trip to Utah next week. That left Autumn & I alone and we watched some TV and then decided to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather.
She wanted to ride her bike, so we put on her helmet and headed off. I walked while she rode. I also kept an eye out for cars to make sure she and Emma moved to the side if any cars came by. Autumn really has gotten good at riding her bike. I’ll have to take her training wheels off soon.
I am SO SAD that “my” pretty purple iris at the back of what used to be our lot are not blooming. They didn’t bloom last year, so I thought they would for sure this year. No such luck. So, I just had to enjoy these purple iris by the bridge and ivy. I think this is so pretty.
I also found some cool things to take pictures of on our walk. I really liked how old and rusted this mailbox is and that you could see the outline of where the mail flag usually goes.
I also found this mushroom in the front yard, so I pulled it up since they aren’t good for the yard. I LOVED the underside of the mushroom and all the texture. There is so much beauty all around if we just take notice.
Once we got back from the walk, Autumn & I sat down and watched a little TV. She came over and sat on my lap and we both fell asleep and took a 2 hour nap! It was awesome and she hasn’t done that in such a long time. I woke up when Mom & Dad got home, but Autumn went right back to sleep after I moved her off my lap. Dad was more than happy to let her fall asleep and snuggle w/ him. She’s just so big and grown up now that this is a rare treat. She slept until 7:30, which was a 4 hour nap!
Mom & Dad left to go to the adult session of stake conference. I watched some TV and edited pictures and backed them up on my hard drive. When Autumn finally woke up, she said she was hungry so I got her something to eat and then she wanted to watch a movie. I picked Ratatouille b/c we hadn’t watched that in a while. It’s a cute movie and she really enjoyed it. We finally came home at 9:30 and I didn’t think she would go to sleep since she took such a long nap. But when I went to bed at 11:00, she went to bed too and fell right to sleep. Maybe she’s going through a growth spurt. It was an awesome St. Patrick’s Day!
