Today after work, Autumn & Andrew were all wound up and kept being really loud and chasing each other around the living room and kitchen. They kept begging us to take them outside to play and run around. We were all being slugs and didn’t want to, so we told them to go outside and play in the backyard by themselves. They didn’t want to, but Papa made them. We watched them out the window and they were all sad and pouty about it. Lexie & Nate & I were laughing at how kids these days don’t know how to entertain themselves. When we were kids we played games w/ sticks and rocks, played in the dirt, etc. Papa finally came to the rescue and went out w/ them. Not 30 seconds later, Autumn came in the house and said, “you have to come out and bring your camera b/c we found a spider in real life.” She’s been saying the phrase “in real life” instead of “for real” lately and it cracks me up. Sure enough, there was this big old tarantula on the garden fence. It’s so weird how the top part of his body looks flat and smooth (the light brown part). I kept my distance and just zoomed in as much as my camera would go.
Once the kids were done playing, they came back inside and wanted to play w/ the crabs b/c we hadn’t gotten them out in a while. The crabs always go straight for the pillows we usually have in front of the fireplace, b/c it’s warm and dark there. But, we moved the pillows and put other things in their way Mom read that they like to climb. This is Peter and he is the better climber of the 2 crabs. He climed over that old cell phone, and then we wanted to see if he would climb over Autumn’s Tiana doll. He did, and just hung out on her face for a while. Autumn wanted him to get off, b/c she didn’t want him pooping on her doll’s face. That would creep me out to have an animal walking across my face.
