Today was a good day. We had a relaxing morning and Autumn called Jason to wish him a Happy Father’s Day. Church was good, and after sacrament they handed out little baggies w/ 4 different types of homemade cookies in them to all the men. We were lucky & got one b/c Kylie was helping to hand out the cookies and there were some extras. Autumn wanted to eat them but decided to be selfless and save them to give to Papa for Father’s Day. After church we went over to Mom & Dad’s house where Mom had the usual roast, carrots, potatoes, gravy & manly jell-o. She even made rice pudding, which was amazing. After dinner Dad was tired so he went and laid down on the couch and fell asleep. I had Autumn write on the front of this card and she did an AWESOME job. Inside was a picture of a Reader’s Digest magazine. We got him a year’s subscription b/c he likes to read and expand his mind. When I ordered the subscription I put this for the name that comes on the shipping label, “The BEST Papa In The World, Kerry Johnson.” She went over and softly put the note on his arm so she didn’t wake him up.
We were watching the NBA playoffs and Autumn kept staring at Nate’s Air Force friend that came to visit for the weekend, Nic. She was being so silly and flirty. I’m in trouble if she’s starting that at only 5 years old. Nic was such a good sport about it and just played along. We really like him, b/c he’s “our type of people.” To get Autumn away from him for a little bit, I told her I would go watch a movie w/ her in Papa & Mimi’s room. We have so many kid’s movies, but she picked to watch Batman Begins w/ Christian Bale. She never ceases to surprise me.
Jocey & Bro. Monzingo came over to visit for a little bit. Bro. Monzingo was bringing back Dad’s truck that he had borrowed for a Scout camping trip. We all sat and talked for a while. Nate told me to get my camera and take a picture of him & Jocey, b/c she’s like a 3rd sister to him. (But I’m still the best one). Tee hee hee.
I had Nate take a picture of Autumn & I w/ Dad since it is Father’s Day. Nate didn’t tell Dad he was ready to take the picture, so Dad was still watching the basketball game. It’s Father’s Day…he can do what he wants. LOL.
We were really lame w/ the Father’s Day gifts this year. It’s impossible to truly recognize how phenomenal of a father & Papa we have. He is one of a kind and by far the best man I know. He honors his Priesthood. He adores and loves and respects Mom and makes sure we do too. He is so good at everything he tries (except cooking eggplant delight). He is always giving unrecognized service to others. He is gracious and generous. He works hard so he can play hard. He is a jokester and makes us laugh. He is so good to Autumn & I and we are beyond blessed to have him in our lives.
HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!!!
