I am obsessed w/ flossing my teeth. I always carry cinnamon floss in my purse so I can floss when I get to work after eating breakfast. My old floss was almost out, so I bought some more. Look at how well worn & used the old one is! I was going to go into some deep metaphor about how that ties into getting my temple recommend interview tonight, but I won’t.
I met w/ Bishop Atkinson tonight, and he is such an incredible man! I am so thankful that he is in tune w/ the Spirit and in touch w/ the needs of the members of his ward. After I met w/ him, I went and waited in line for the stake interview. It was nice to just sit and read scriptures on my phone in peace and quiet while I waited. I even learned something new that I hadn’t known before.
Pres. Joseph F. Smith had been reading the Bible, and he wondered what it meant in 1 Peter 3:18-20 where it says, “By which also he (Christ) went and preached unto the spirits in prison.” Also in 1 Peter 4:6 where it says, “For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.” He receives revelation about what that means. Y’all should read D&C 138:11-60. It’s FASCINATING reading. I had always thought that when Christ died, He spent those 3 days that His spirit was separated from His body by teaching the people that had died. I was wrong!
It says in verses 29-32 it in essence says that Jesus did NOT go in person to the wicked that had died, but instead He organized messengers from among the righteous to go and preach the Gospel to the disobedient that had died. It makes such complete sense that even in death, He would be helping others and giving them a chance to hear the Gospel! Neat stuff to think about, especially with Easter coming up.
This was a present that Mom brought to me from Utah! A Polynesian Cultural Center puzzle! Only in Utah would you be able to find something like this at WalMart!!! It makes me SO HAPPY! Now I can combine 2 of my favorite things…Polynesians & Puzzles.
