Tyler’s Non-Lagging Flag Day Party 2013

We got up this morning and had eggs, bacon, & toast for breakfast.  Then I helped Mom make deviled eggs & I made a tropical delight cake.

Autumn’s belly button has been hurting her b/c she scratched it and it got infected a little bit.  So, we’ve been putting hydrogen peroxide in it to kill any bacteria.  Jackson decided that he wanted in on the fun, too.  So he laid down next to her and we put some in his belly button.

I had Mom put some in my ears to clean them out, and he wanted to have some in his ears, too.  It’s funny how  adventurous he is, b/c Andrew saw what we were doing and when we offered to let him try it, he RAN in the other room and wouldn’t come out until we were done.

We loaded up Lexie’s van, ran by my house so I could get a change of clothes for Autumn & I, and we hit the road for Tyler & Emily’s.  There were 3 bad accidents that we passed on the way there.  When we got there, we had Emily take us on a tour of the house.  They have a lot of work to do on it, b/c the people that used to live there let their teenagers tag it up w/ graffiti.  This was in one of the bedrooms!

This is the tropical delight cake that I made.  I just added some blueberries in the corner and then cut some strawberries in 1/2 and made lines.  You can’t tell b/c they melted, but in between the strawberries I had little puffs of whipped cream for the white part of the flag.  No one complained though, and seemed to enjoy it.

I had to get a picture of the adult table, too.  After we sat and visited for a while, it was time to swim.

I like the pool at this new house b/c it’s bigger and we had a lot of people in there.  It was perfect weather b/c it was warm but cloudy.

Tyler invited Uncle Rich (Sandy’s brother) & Aunt Cassie, but they live in Colorado and weren’t able to come.  Aunt Cassie is so awesome and made this card and sent it in honor of the Flag Day party!

We left after about 3 hours, b/c we were water logged and needed to get the kids home.  Mom & I left to go and pick up a window air conditioning unit from someone that was getting rid of theirs.  That way Mom can use it for up in the quilting room, which gets so hot since it’s over the garage.  We drove through a heavy rainstorm, and this was the view when we got to our destination.  So picturesque, huh?

When we got home, Lexie & I worked on the puzzle while the kids had fun playing Legos together.  Autumn & I came home so we could get some good sleep in our own beds.  Plus, Lexie brought up this Rain edition from the Archiver’s down where she lives.  I laid it all out & think it’s such a pretty kit w/ rich colors.
