Ice & Hot Chocolate

We woke up to this silly scene from Rosy Posy.  She’s such a crazy elf!

The weather turned really bad today and we started getting an icy mix.  My bosses let me leave at 4:00 so I could get home before the temps dropped below freezing.  I thought this was rain on my car windows, but it was pure ice!!!  It took a while for it to defrost so I could drive home.  Dad got Autumn from daycare and I went to our house to get a few days’ worth of clothes and other things.

We stayed at Mom & Dad’s house b/c we knew we’d be iced in.  Who needs expensive Starbucks when we can make our own fancy hot chocolate at home?  The secret is to throw in a few Hershey kisses for flavor and creaminess.

Oh, the weather outside is frightful, but our hot chocolate’s so delightful.

I folded Christmas letters to go in Mom & Dad’s Christmas cards while we watched The Sound of Music w/ Carrie Underwood on TV.  I really wanted it to be good b/c I like her and think she’s super talented.  But, I was completely underwhelmed and not impressed at all.  Mom & I kept laughing at how short & tight Raul’s lederhosen were!  We eventually had to change it after a while b/c the whole thing was so awkward.

Dad went and picked Nick up from work at 9:00 and said the roads weren’t incredibly slick yet, but they were starting to get bad.  I’m thankful to be here w/ family to weather out the storm (pun intended).
