I got up this morning & went to the 7:30 session at the temple. I absolutely adore all of the springtime flowers they have around the temple grounds. It just makes my soul so happy.
We had a super lazy Saturday today, which was really nice. We got a few chores done & basically just hung out and watched TV, took naps, and relaxed. Liz texted at 4:00 to see if Autumn & I wanted to come over for dinner. They had signed up to feed the sister missionaries, and Liz said she made a ton of food. We went over at 5:00 & she had made a Caesar salad, spaghetti w/ sauce & the most delicious cheese filled breadsticks. Then, when we were all stuffed to the gills she pulled out a this cake she had made. It was so good that Autumn had 2 helpings! We were sitting and talking when Dad called & said he needed us to meet him at our house in 10 minutes. I feel bad that we just had to eat & run, but he needed our help.
He had gotten a mean letter from the Home Owner’s Association saying that we needed to get rid of the tree stump in our front yard & replace it w/ another tree that was at least 3” in diameter. So, he had gone & gotten this big magnolia tree & needed our help unloading it & planting it. He’s was going to cut out the tree stump, but it’s way too big & the roots are too deep so he’s got a guy coming on Monday to take it out. I’m SO THANKFUL that Dad’s such a handy guy & can do things like this. He even missed going to the adult evening session of stake conference (and the hockey game) to take care of this. What would we do without him?
As soon as we were done planting the tree, we went to a hockey game. Autumn’s daycare had offered free tickets earlier this week so we jumped all over that.
Honestly, we’re not huge hockey fans but it was fun to be there & cheer for our local team. I felt like I had been mauled by a bear at the end of it b/c Autumn kept climbing all over me & wanting to sit on my lap. Her favorite part is trying to catch the free appetizer things that drop from the blimp thing that flies around. One fell tonight into an empty seat by us, so she ran over & grabbed it (hence the thumbs up sign). We left in the middle of the 3rd period b/c it was almost 9:00, which is way past her bedtime, and we didn’t want to deal w/ all the traffic when the game ended. We ran to WalMart super fast and got a few things for dinner tomorrow and then came home & I put her right to bed.
