Dad texted us these pictures from Trek today. He went up last night after dinner so he could get his tent and the medical tent set up. He texted and said it was a HORRIBLE night b/c a huge storm came through around 2:30 in the morning. It ripped tarps, blew chairs & tables over, and the rain was coming in horizontally so a lot of stuff got wet. Poor Dad! Hopefully they have good weather for the next 3 days! This is Ashley, one of the Laurels that I teach and Autumn and I adore her, so this was a fun picture to see.
Here’s another one he sent. It makes me laugh to see the old handcarts, the people dressed in period clothing, and a big red car off to the side and vans in the background! LOL. “One of these things is not like the other …”
Autumn & I went to Bath & Body Works after dinner b/c they’re having their big semi-annual sale. We mostly went for the $2.50 soap, but it was all picked over. We were right next to a Rita’s, and Autumn had been super well behaved in the store while I shopped. So, we stopped in to try it out b/c I had heard great things about it. We got a Gelati, and it was good. However, it was pricey and I’d rather buy 2 half price shakes at Sonic for less than what we paid for one gelati. Oh, well … it was fun to try it once to say we’ve experienced it.
When Nick got home from work at 9:30, I went over to Karri’s so we could watch the Bachelorette. However, we all haven’t gotten together in so long that we just started talking & didn’t stop talking until 2:15 am!!! I’m glad, b/c I’d much rather talk w/ these ladies than watch the Bachelorette. We just use that as a reason to get together. Also, you can’t really tell in this picture, but Karri’s kitchen island was COVERED w/ all sorts of yummy treats. The real treat, though, is having such wonderful friends that are true kindred spirits.
