Today at work was slow and quiet until 4:40 when some sales came in and 34 checks were put on my desk. I had to fold them, stuff them in the envelopes, seal them, stamp them, and put them in the mail. Why does that always happen on Friday afternoon?
Lexie texted us this pic of the cute boys before they went out to trick or treat. I love all the super hero pumpkins behind them.
I got Autumn from school and we went over to the Dakins for their annual Halloween party. Autumn & I look forward to it every year. Look at all these cute kids! I hadn’t done Autumn’s hair & make up yet.
We had chili, my cornbread, mummy dogs, a veggie tray, chips & hummus, chips, and drinks. It was all so yummy. After we ate, the kids went outside and showed us their dance to Thriller that they learned in P.E. Then it was time for the best part of the night … trick or treating. I’m so thankful to have such great ladies for friends.
The kids had fun RUNNING from house to house. I kept thinking as we walked from house to house that this is the essence of childhood. A fun neighborhood, perfect weather, kids laughing and having fun, etc.
Another thing we look forward to every year is this creepy guy that one of the families put on their electric golf cart. They control it w/ a remote and it just roams the streets. You can’t tell from this picture, but the whole front yard is full of kids and parents. They’re also setting up a movie projector on the right hand side of the picture. This is the BEST neighborhood to trick or treat in.
We only did about half the neighborhood and the kids’ buckets were already full and us parents were DONE! So, we came back and they got something to drink and then Autumn & I left.
We went to Mom & Dad’s house b/c they are leaving for a cruise tomorrow and we wanted to say bye. Mimi looked so cute w/ her granddaughters. We will for sure miss them.
When we got home Autumn did what she usually does w/ her candy … she organizes it and lays it out on the floor. This was a GREAT Halloween, especially since Autumn’s at that magical age where she’s old enough to appreciate it, but not too old to think it’s lame!
