What better way to start the day after Thanksgiving than to go to the temple? I am so full of THANKS for the countless blessings in my life. I posted this pic on Facebook & a friend wrote it was a “white Friday” instead of “black Friday.” I loved that, and couldn’t agree more. Instead of worrying about sales & shopping I was able to focus on service & sacrifice. I forgot that they only have endowment sessions every hour (instead of every half hour) during the weekdays. I got there at 7:10 & decided to do some initiatories until it was time for the 8:00 session.
I got home from the temple, changed my clothes, grabbed Autumn’s Elsa costume and went over to Mom & Dad’s house. I got Autumn all dolled up like Elsa & we all went to Disney On Ice! Some of us had seen it before (almost exactly 2 years ago). Lexie & I were laughing about how she rocked it out w/ her dance moves the last time we came. This time I didn’t take very many pics of the show & just sat back & enjoyed it. They shortened some of the time for certain princesses in order to leave a lot of time for Frozen. It was a great addition & the whole crowd LOVED it.
They really do a great job, and it was a 2 hour long show. We’re so appreciative to Papa & Mimi for treating us to such a fun outing!
We came home & Mom informed us that the Monzingos were coming over in an hour to eat w/ us. So we hurried and got out the leftovers and threw together a pretty nice buffet. When they got here, our great room was FULL of people … just how we love it!
After we ate, Autumn wanted me to come outside and watch her ride her bike up and down the street. While I was out there a game of Ultimate Frisbee started up. Nate was so proud of me for participating and actually running around and getting sweaty! It was a lot of fun except for one part where I was running and stepped in a divot in the lawn wrong. I have a feeling I’ll be hurting tomorrow after that one! Here’s the crazy crew (minus Jon b/c he had already gone back inside when we took the pic).
We love the Monzingos so much and are grateful we’ve stayed such close friends for well over 20 years! It was especially fun for us to have Bobby here (the guy in the blue hat) b/c we didn’t know he was coming and we haven’t seen him in a long time.
After the Monzingos left, it was time for the hot tub. We invited them to stay & enjoy it w/ us but none of them had brought their swimsuits. Sofia really wanted to try it before she goes home in a few days. Her & Andrew are CRAZY & jumped into the super cold pool a few times. Maybe it’s b/c she won’t be here for our annual Polar Bear Plunge, so she’s trying it out now.
Look at all these cute kids lined up in a row. I didn’t get in, but I sat outside in a lawn chair right by the pool to watch them.
They had such a great time & were so sad when it was time to get out and go in the house. I think everyone is going to sleep really well tonight after such a fun-filled day!
