Another Mommy/Daughter Date

IMG_6017 Autumn & I had another Mommy/Daughter date tonight, but the budget didn’t allow for another dinner out to our favorite fancy Italian restaurant like last week. So, we split the chicken tender combo at the WalMart deli & ate it out in the car b/c we were in a rush. Autumn was thrilled that I let her sit in the front seat while we ate, and that I let her stay there while we drove less than half a mile to Liz’s house.

IMG_6018 Liz was hosting a little shopping boutique at her house so we stopped by to help her and see what cute clothes there were. I didn’t find anything in my size or price range, but we did find a cute pair of leggings that fit Autumn so I bought those for her. She is growing so fast that a bunch of her pants have turned into “high water” pants.

IMG_6022 We left Liz’s & hurried over to the other local high school (a different one from last week) to see their production of Cinderella. Their theater is HUGE & so incredibly professional. I’m tempted to be green w/ envy when I think of what they have compared to what I had when I was in the theater program back in high school. Anyways, we saw a bunch of friends from church there, and were pleasantly surprised to run into Donna & Abbey. The girls loved watching the students down in the full sized orchestra pit.

P1120486 The play was good & the sets were phenomenal. I think the other high school performance we went to last week was much better, but we still enjoyed this one a lot. This is Carlee, one of the girls that used to be in our ward before they split it. She was one of the townspeople and did a good job.

IMG_6035 During intermission, we saw Kylie & her family, so Autumn went & sat w/ Kylie & Kenzie and Karri came and sat w/ me for the 2nd half of the show. After the show, Kylie & Autumn took off together and ended up running into the girl that played Cinderella. She had a beautiful singing voice & did a great job. Someone snapped this pic of them & texted it to Kylie & she was kind enough to text it to me, b/c she knows pictures are my thing.

IMG_6019 I’m telling y’all … this theater is beyond amazing for a high school. It feels like a swanky downtown small theater. They even had these pieces of art hanging in the lobby. Autumn loved them & had me come look at them several times.

P1120489After visiting w/ a bunch of people after the play, we took the girls to get some frozen yogurt. I am beyond grateful for good friends & especially these teenage girls who love Autumn & treat her as a true friend. Autumn was so slap silly by this point b/c it was WAY past her bedtime, that she kept pulling funny faces when I tried to get a pic. She cracks me up.

Looks like a super fun night! That theater looks very impressive, especially for a high school! Hope you have a great week!
