New Year’s Pool Dip 2015

This morning at breakfast Dad had a big bag of hats & sunglasses that he was putting in the Goodwill box.  We had to try on the sunglasses to see if there were any we wanted to keep.  Nate & Autumn decided they were gangsta thugs.

Olivia was CRACKING.US.UP wearing these glasses!!! Dad took these pics & texted them w/ the following, “I called you all here to discuss what we have been having for breakfast, and what can be done to improve it and have more variety.”

“ Kapish???  Good!  And Happy New Year ya filthy animals.”

After breakfast we got busy cleaning & cooking for the Annual New Year’s Pool Dip party.  The roads were wet & the temperature was about 34 degrees, but none of the roads were icy so we still had the party.  This is our awesome Costco cake.

For lunch we had Hawaiian haystacks, dips, chips, a veggie tray, and drinks.

Dad went out to check the temperature in the pool & it was a balmy and steamy 40 degrees!  Brrrrrrrr. Luckily we had the hot tub on so it wouldn’t be as bad.

Here’s the party poopers that didn’t get in the pool this year.  Uncle Robert is the only one that had a valid excuse b/c he had his hip replaced.

I was the last one to go in and it was REALLY, REALLY, REALLY cold.  My face says it all.  Plus, it was only 34 degrees outside and it was raining.  I’m so thankful that we have the hot tub.  I can’t imagine doing it like those people who cut a whole in the ice and don’t have a hot tub to get in after jumping into the cold water.  They’re the real polar bear dippers.

Autumn didn’t go in this year.  We kept trying to talk her into it, but she didn’t want to.  Riannon was such a sweetheart & even offered to go in w/ her, but Autumn ended up going back in the house.

Here’s all the brave (or crazy, silly, stupid) people who jumped in the pool this year.

Somehow the men all ended up w/ the super girly towels. LOL!

It was so cold this year that we ended up opening presents inside instead of outside like we usually do.  I ended up w/ a box of brownie mix.  LOL!  After that, everyone lined up to get a Kinder egg from Germany that Oma sent to us.  They said it was the shortest first, which is why Tyler & Nick are squatting down.  Silly boys.

After everyone left, we watched some football and just hung out.  Autumn wanted to do my hair, and this is the super fancy hair style she gave me.  I think that the “scorpion tail” look will be the new fashionable hairdo for this year.  We’re just way head of the curve. LOL!  It was a great way to spend the first day of the New Year.
