Autumn asked me to do her hair this morning before my ward council meeting. She said she wanted it in pigtail braids. I think she’s getting in touch w/ her American Indian half, b/c she’s been studying Pocahontas at school for a project she has due next week. My cute little Ponca Princess!
Today in Young Women’s Sis. C introduced something we’re going to do next week called “Love Week.” She was so excited about it, and I am SO THANKFUL to have counselors who think of great things like this. We’re going to pick each other’s names out of a hat & be assigned someone to do acts of kindness next week. Kind of like a secret sister thing. I think it’s a great idea, b/c it’s sad not to have a Valentine for Valentine’s Day & this will help them feel loved, give love to someone else, and hopefully build unity.
After church we came home, changed clothes, grabbed our stuff, and headed over to Mom & Dad’s. Nate & I had decided earlier in the week that we were going to have a nacho bar for the Super Bowl. He went & picked Mom & Dad up at the airport at 6:15 this morning. We’re SO GLAD they are back from their 3 week Antarctic cruise.
I also got this big football cake for just $4.99, so we had that for dessert. It was a good game, but I didn’t really care who won so I wasn’t too invested in watching every play. It was a good Sunday, and I even got up and bore my testimony in sacrament meeting about how I’ve seen the “fingerprints of the Lord” all over my life.
