Women Of Faith From Bro. Moon

IMG_7260 Since Autumn had Activity Days today, I stopped at Cane’s chicken on the way to get her. She’s usually super hungry when I pick her up, and I’ve never had Cane’s before. People have raved about it, so I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. It was good, but not something I’d go out of my way to buy again. Anyways, for their activity today they made little point stitch bookmarks that say, “I ♥ U.” Autumn almost had a meltdown b/c she wasn’t catching onto how to do it as fast as she wanted, and if it’s not perfect to her standards then she gets mad and will just throw it away. I calmed her down and showed her how to do it. While she was doing that, I had a nice little set up in one the classrooms where I ate and did some blogging.

P1120684 Tonight for Young Women’s we had Bro. Moon come and talk to us about “Women of Faith.” He shared with us stories & artifacts from women such as Martha Washington, Rachel Ivins, Helen Keller (he had an original letter that she had typed up and signed), Anjezë Gonxhe Bojaxhiu who we know as Mother Teresa (he had a handwritten letter by her), Emma Hale (who married the Prophet Joseph Smith), and Phoebe Carter Woodruff (wife of Wilford Woodruff, 4 President of the Church). Autumn got to hold both Pres. & Sis. Woodruff’s first copies of the Book of Mormon, and she even got to wear President Woodruff’s original reading glasses! SO COOL!

P1120688 Pres. Woodruff was an excellent writer and Bro. Moon showed us a big (11x20) original letter Pres. Woodruff sent to Phoebe. It even had part of the red wax seal on it still. He has a store in Provo, UT and we are so thankful he took the time to come and speak to us tonight. It’s neat to hear stories about women of faith & how we can also leave a legacy of faith like they left for us.
