It was weird to get up this morning and shower in a new shower b/c I’m not sure where the best position of the handle is to get the ideal water temperature and pressure. But, little things like that will soon be figured out and become habit before I know it. Autumn got dressed & we went over to Mom & Dad’s house so Autumn could stay and play w/ Andrew. Mom & Dad & I went to stake conference and it was SO TOUCHING b/c our stake president got released and Mom & Dad know him from back in the day when they were kids and all lived in the same neighborhood. I don’t know why, but I was so emotional and just sat and cried through most of the meeting. I had a rip roaring headache by the time it was over. It was incredibly spiritual and uplifting. We got home at noon and I’m sad this picture didn’t turn out very well and Lexie is so white washed, but she is COVERED on her face, neck & arms in stickers. She let the kids put them on her to keep them entertained for over an hour. I was laughing so hard when I walked in and saw her. We were joking that it was like Gulliver’s Travels where the natives take over the bigger person. But, she said the kids had fun and she didn’t mind.
Mom had made some amazing chicken noodle soup, so we had that for lunch and then Jackson threw up so Mom went and gave him a bath. The kids followed her to try and “help”. They wanted to see how much they weighed, so Mom put them on the scale. Andrew weighs 49 lbs and Autumn weighs 50 lbs and they are both 46” tall. For Autumn, that’s the 93rd percentile for weight and 97th percentile for height. Basically, she’s going to be a tall Amazon woman like her Mama.
Dad wanted to go over to the new house to get some work done like setting up beds, etc. But, we were able to talk him into going over to the lot to throw sticks in the creek since we haven’t done that in a long time. The people that bought the lot have staked out where they will build their new house, but that’s about it. I love how peaceful and tranquil this picture is. I like how you can see where there is a little pathway of water that is trickling down the stream b/c on either side of it, the water that isn’t moving is covered in leaves.
The kids had fun throwing sticks and rocks into the water and could have spent all day there. Dad was showing Autumn how to throw a rock to the other side of the creek instead of just down into the water and he had to duck a few times so she didn’t hit him! LOL! Andrew got it down right away and didn’t need any help.
I was SO SAD to see that my beloved barn is starting to really fall apart. The back part of it (on the left of the picture) used to have a roof on it, but that’s now gone. I don’t know if the owner of the property took it off or if kids vandalized it or if it just deteriorated and fell off.
Anyways, we went back to the house and loaded into cars and went over to the new house to get some work done. We usually don’t work on Sundays in order to try and keep the Sabbath Day holy, but we kind of felt like “the ox was in the mire” so we put together my bed, Nick’s bed & Autumn’s bed. Dad had to go to Lowe’s to get some bolts & washers to put the beds together b/c some of them got lost in the move. Nick got his room all put together and I got Autumn’s room all put together except for organizing her clothes. We got a lot accomplished, but as usual with moving, there is still so much to do.
