Nick stayed w/ Autumn this morning while I went and got my nails done at 9:00. I went to the kid’s consignment store after I was done and found some great deals. Autumn was so excited about this Hawaiian surf girl shirt, which only cost $2.50. She wanted me to do her hair like the girl on her shirt w/ a side ponytail and pink flower.
Mom came and picked us up and we hit the road by 11:00 to meet Lexie & Jon in West, TX. We stopped at McDonald’s first to get brunch b/c we were all hungry. 2 hours later when we got to West, Mom treated us to lunch at Subway.
The kids had fun being out of the car and getting to run around for a little bit.
I told them to stand together for a picture and this is what they gave me. LOL! Andrew was doing his Spiderman hands and Autumn was doing her sassy look. As soon as Lexie & Jon drove away and we drove away Autumn said, “I really miss Andrew.” Mom & I just rolled our eyes & shook our heads b/c they fought like siblings and yet she was already saying she missed him. I guess they must just love each other like siblings, too.
I thought this plant outside of Subway looked kind of weird. I can just picture it as a desert Christmas tree w/ ornaments hanging from those top branches.
We stopped at the grocery store on the way home to get some food for dinner. Then we stopped by Sis. Lee’s house so I could pick up the stuff she had to make rice crispie treats for the dance tonight. I’m glad she delegated and asked for help so I could help her out. I made 2 double batches of cake batter rice crispie treats. I melted a stick of margarine in the microwave and then added a 10 oz bag of mini marshmallows and stuck that in the microwave for 1 minute and stirred it and put it back in for another minute until all the marshmallows were melted. Then I added a heaping 1/2 c of yellow cake mix powder to the melted mixture. I added a whole box of rice crispie treats and mixed that all together, pressed it into a sprayed jelly roll sized pan. The last touch was to put some sprinkles on top while the rice crispie treats were still sticky.
We took the treats over to the church for the dance. It was an 80’s theme and Sis. Lee had made these adorable Pac Man cookies. Such a cute idea! She said she just used a circle cookie cutter and then she had one that had a triangle shape on one end, which she used for the mouth cut out.
Autumn & I helped decorate the tables and then we got our picture and left before the dance started. If you look close, you can see Autumn is wearing a hot pink feather in her hair. Mimi got it for her at the $1 Store and Autumn loves it.
Back when we had to do 3 lice treatments on Autumn, I told her if she was a good girl and held still for us that I would take her for a special treat. She stayed good to her word and was so well behaved, so tonight we went to the place of her choice. She picked a frozen yogurt place. I got the avocado flavor b/c it is so good. There were TV’s in the shop, so she kept getting distracted when I was trying to talk to her. It was fun going on a Mommy/Daughter Date w/ my Autumn Bottom.
