Simple Pleasures

IMG_9074 Today I finally decided to do something that I’ve been wanting to do for months and months. Carpe Diem. I got Liz to go w/ me to an Indian restaurant in downtown Dallas. I had to parallel park, which as you can tell from the picture, I am NOT good at. I tried to back up, but it just wasn’t happening, so I left half my car sticking out. Luckily no one hit it!

IMG_9076 We should have known we were in for a unique dining experience when we were the ONLY customers in there and then instead of like chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant they brought us a cup of HOT PINK turnips and cabbage? What the heck???

IMG_9077 Liz got the chicken schawarma sandwich and I got the spicy lamb. I have been CRAVING some kebapci’s like I used to have in Slovenija all the time. I was so excited when we walked in and I saw the meat on a turning spike like they had in Kebapci’s, but it wasn’t the same. It was good, but not even close to what I was craving. And, it was really expensive. As you can see, Liz wasn’t too excited about it, but she got french fries b/c you can’t really mess those up too bad. It was ok, but not a place I will go back to. What I wouldn’t give for a real Kebapci’s right now! It was such a simple pleasure that I enjoyed so much while living in Slovenija.

IMG_9086 When Autumn and I got home, we went out to feed Gigi and then we sat on the driveway and played w/ the dandelions. You have to watch the video below…it is SO PRECIOUS! I don't think I've ever gotten such happiness and enjoyment out of such a simple thing. I couldn't help but laugh and smile while watching her.

All I have to say is that picture of your parking skills cracked me up. In NY, thats all I have to do and I pride myself on knowing how to get into the tightest spots without touching bumpers:)

I am glad your car didn't get swiped!

For some reason the video won't buffer for me, so only the first few seconds worked...but Finn kept asking to watch it again and again...so cute.
