Today Liz & I went to Albertson’s to grab some lunch. I was walking around the deli looking for something to eat when I spotted these. Only in Texas would you be able to find something healthy like peas being made unhealthy by frying them.
I was in the mood for a sandwich, and for just $1.50 more, I was able to get this big old sandwich instead of a little tiny one. This picture doesn’t show how huge that sandwich is, but it was about the length of my arm! I’m going to be able to get 3-4 lunches out of this thing.
We stopped at 7-11 to get a Slurpee, but they didn’t have the flavor we wanted. So, I got some Gatorade and some chips to put on my sandwich. Yes, that’s right…I put the chips ON my sandwich. It’s so good, you really should try it. As I was checking out, I noticed this sign on the counter and laughed when I read, “if you appear under the age of 30, you will be asked for identification…” I asked the cashier guy if he was going to have to ID me (although I wasn’t buying any alcohol) b/c I looked younger than 30. He didn’t answer, he just looked away and helped the next customer! LOL! Liz & I were laughing so hard about that.
We came back to the office and I loaded up my sandwich w/ all the fixin’s like mayo, mustard, pickles, chips, etc. This thing was so huge I could barely fit a bite of it in my mouth.
As I was eating my lunch, I had to laugh b/c it was HUGE. The sandwich was massive and I had this 64 oz bottle of Gatorade (don’t worry, I only drank 1/2 of it). But, it was a really good lunch. I guess it’s true what they say… “Everything is bigger and better in Texas.”
On the way home, I was just driving along when all of a sudden the skies opened up and it started POURING. I’m talking a torrential downpour to the point I could barely even see where the road was. The streets started flooding pretty fast, b/c it lasted for about 15 minutes. I have never understood why people drive in the far right hand lane when it rains. It’s like driving through a small lake. I always stay in the far left lane so I don’t have to deal w/ all that water, b/c it freaks me out to drive through that.
It was nice to stay home tonight after all the crazy fun I’ve had over the past couple of evenings. It was good for Autumn to be able to be at home and just relax and play w/ her toys and go to bed at a decent hour. When Nick got home at 10:00, I busted out my ipod and went on a walk around the neighborhood. I haven’t done that in so long and realized how much I miss it. I love escaping into my music and just jamming out. That’s why I go walking at night…not only the fact that it’s not as hot at night, but I can kind of dance along to my music and no one can see me. Good times! I’ll have to start making it a priority to go walking more often. It was like reconnecting w/ a long lost friend.

There is a restaurant here that batters and fries bacon. As if it's not unhealthy enough as is!!!
