It has rained NON-STOP today! I really like that I can sit in my office and look outside the window and see the rain. Sometimes it falls nice and soft and then in just a few seconds it can change into a heavy downpour where you can see the sheets of rain. It makes me so happy. But, with all of that rain came some bad things like an apartment complex that was flooded and some of the residents had to be rescued by firemen. Then, there was a tornado that touched down in Dallas today and ripped the roof off an industrial building!
I went & got Autumn from daycare after work and then we stopped at our Vietnamese restaurant in town to pick up an order Mom had called in. I LOVE the flavor of the meat and the eggrolls. Super good. Autumn kept saying she wanted to go outside, so I finally told her to put her shoes on so we could go look and see how full the creek on the lot was.
We started walking over there and it wasn’t raining when all of a sudden the heavens opened and so we had to make a mad dash for the shelter of some trees. We hadn’t thought of brining an umbrella b/c it wasn’t raining when we went outside. Oh, well. We made it fun and Autumn was laughing like crazy that we had to run to avoid the rain. She thought it was a game.
The creek was the fullest I’ve ever seen it. Autumn & I didn’t go all the way down to the creek b/c it was way too muddy, so I sent my camera w/ Nick and he got this picture. That white rock in the middle of the picture is usually where Autumn & Andrew & Papa stand to throw rocks and sticks into the water. So, the water rose that high, which I would guess is about 9 feet!
We spent the rest of the evening playing with Autumn and watching TV. She talked Dad into dancing with her and loved when he picked her up and put her on his shoulder so they could spin around. Then she had me lay down on the floor so I could flip her. Dad and I were laughing b/c Mom asked how long we thought she could keep that up. We were saying Autumn could dance and flip for hours on end, but that WE are the ones who tire out and can’t keep up with Autumn. Then she made Dad and I get on the floor so she could cover us up w/ blankets. I guess she’s no longer satisfied covering up her dolls w/ dish towels…she has now moved onto covering up live dolls. What a little bug!
