Today after college, Mom said to come over to the house b/c she wanted to show me some stuff she got at the big Macy’s sale. Then we got in the car and went to Cheddar’s for dinner. We haven’t been there in a while so it was good to eat there again. It took our food a while to come and Autumn was getting restless, so Mom busted out her earplugs and iPhone so Autumn could watch a movie while we waited.
After we ate, we called Dad to see if he wanted us to bring him some food b/c he was working a full shift at the clinic. He wanted Panda Express so we stopped to get him some. I noticed on the dashboard that it was 100 degrees, which was crazy since it was 7:00 at night. All of a sudden, there was a HUGE lightning & thunderstorm. It was the most impressive lightning show I can remember seeing in a long time. Then the sky opened and it started pouring. We were LOVING it! We got out to the clinic and Autumn went straight to give Papa a snuggle.
Mom dropped us off to run over to Target to get a cheesecake b/c Dad asked her to since it was one of the nurse’s last nights and that cheesecake is her favorite treat. B/c it was raining so hard, Mom came in looking like a drowned rat b/c she got soaked. She has done so well w/ her diabetes and even brought an apple to eat since she couldn’t have cheesecake. The really odd thing about this picture is that Autumn preferred to have some of Mom’s apple instead of cheesecake! She has such unusual tastes for a 4 year old.
This mural is painted on the wall in the X-ray room and made me laugh when I saw it. The guy who paints the murals in all of the clinics is so incredibly talented.
I had to get a picture of this license plate they had in the bathroom.
Oh, I forgot that after dinner Mom said we had to go over to Macy’s b/c they were having a great sale. I have never shopped at Macy’s before b/c I didn’t know they had clothes in my size and I refuse to spend lots of money on clothes. But, we found quite a few dresses in my size so we each took an armful and went to the dressing room so I could try them on. There were 3 adorable dresses, but they were about an inch too short for me. That’s one of the downsides of being so tall, but 95% of the time I love being so tall. Anyways, we did find 3 awesome dresses and b/c of the sale we got them for $21.50 each!!! I didn’t think this one would look good on, but Mom told me to try it anyway and it is so flattering on me. Nick took these pictures, so they’re not the best angles but you get the idea of what the dresses look like.
I LOVE this dress b/c I can spin around in it and it flares out. It makes me feel so girly. It’s sleeveless so we also bought this jacket to go over it.
This is Mom’s favorite b/c she said she’s so tired of me always wearing black. Most of my wardrobe is black b/c it’s flattering, not b/c I’m goth. This dress was made for me and is super flattering. I kept thinking while I was trying on the dresses that that’s what it must be like to be on What Not To Wear and get to feel special and pretty and fussed over.
What I thought was going to be a quiet evening at home watching last night’s recorded episode of Modern Family ended up being packed full of unexpected fun and adventure. I love evenings that are out of the ordinary.
