Happy 26th Birthday, Nick

P1030212 Nicks started off his birthday by going to the temple this morning w/ Dad.  While he was gone, Autumn & I put some Happy Birthday signs up on his bedroom door before we left for work/school.  After work/school, we went over to Mom & Dad’s for Nick’s special birthday dinner.  Mom made him Shoyu chicken & cornbread stuffing b/c those are his favorite foods.  They don’t necessarily go together, but we all ate until we were stuffed b/c it’s so good.  He got the special red birthday plate and plastic Happy Birthday placemat.

P1030216 For his cake, Mom bought him this (expensive) cake that he usually gets at work.  They only sell small slices, but Mom was able to get a whole cake.  It was so incredibly rich that I couldn’t even finish my whole piece, which NEVER happens.  We sang to him and then had him make a wish and blow out the candle.

P1030221 Then it was time for Mom to shower him with gifts.  She didn’t wrap them b/c she had so many.  She had him sit on the bed and then went in her closet and brought out gifts.  She made about 5 trips b/c she got him so many gifts.  Nick LOVES Mt. Dew, so this was right up his alley.

P1030228 I’m glad he got spoiled w/ so many gifts b/c he never asks for anything.  He got new sheets, pillows, towels, razor, chips, cereal, soda, and a toaster oven.  I love how Emma is pretending to be a bomb sniffing dog and making sure Nick’s cereal and drinks on the floor are safe and secure.

P1030237 After all the excitement of presents, Autumn wanted to go outside and enjoy the perfect weather.  She wanted to ride her scooter down the driveway and have me chase her.  I was only wearing flip flops, so I didn’t chase her but I watched her and cheered her on and took pictures.  She kept flipping her hair and saying how pretty it looked in the wind.  She cracks me up.

P1030240 This was the pretty sunset, and I did nothing to edit this picture.  It’s SOOC, and I love how pink the clouds looked w/ the outline of the dark trees across the skyline.  We watched some TV and then Autumn & I came home.  I put her to bed and watched the last part of Project Runway and the last 1/2 of the hour season premiere of Grey’s Anatomy.  I also updated the journaling on my Project Life.  Then Nick & I watched Whose Line, which is as great way to end a day of celebrating a birthday, if you ask me.

I’m glad that Nick gets to live w/ me and that we get to spend time together in the evenings.  We used to watch Will & Grace together and now it’s fun to watch Whose Line together.  He is so good about mowing the lawn and taking care of the yard work.  He loads and unloads the dishwasher and keeps his bathroom clean.  He’s so laid back and easy to get along with.  He’s the best roommate ever and I’m so glad he’s my brother and that we got to spend his special day with him.

LOVE YOU, Nicholas Chase Charlie Brown Johnson, The Family Angel Juicy Dude Boy.  I don’t know where the Charlie Brown came from but when he was little, he would tell us all the time that he was the “Family Angel Boy.”  The Juicy Dude part came from his orthodontist (Dr. Neat) who said he had so much saliva that he was a juicy dude.  We’re so thankful he’s a special part of our family and we all love him.

Happy birthday, Nick! I've never met you, but I feel like I know you. I'm pretty sure we'd be friends. :)
