Unimpressive Mexican Food

Mom called & said not to come over tonight b/c Dad was sick all night w/ vomiting and a fever.  So, Autumn & I decided to be adventurous and try a new restaurant.  I had my heart set on enchiladas, so we tried a local place in our town that a few people have raved about.  There were a few signs that it could be great … it’s a hole in the wall, and a cop was eating there.  They usually know the best places in town to eat.  Anyways, we decided to just get water b/c the fountain drinks were $2.50!  When our chips & salsa came we were so excited, until we tried the salsa.  It was SPICY & we both felt like we had steam coming out our ears.  It cleared out our sinuses pretty well!

We got the enchilada plate & 3 tamales to share.  It was just ok food, but nothing I would go out of my way to eat again.  The verde sauce on the one enchilada was super spicy, and the tamales were really dry and didn’t have much filling.  Overall, Autumn & I were NOT impressed, which is too bad b/c I really wanted it to be good since I’d heard so many good things about it from people I know.  But, I’m proud of Autumn for trying something new.  I had to post this 2nd pic b/c the girl in the background was photo bombing us.  I smiled at her after I took this pic, b/c I totally caught her doing it.
