We got up this morning & had Texas shaped waffles for breakfast in Papa’s honor, b/c it’s ♪ ♫ “TRADITION.” ♪ ♫ Then we went & picked up Nick and went over to an “EGG-celent EGG-stravaganza” that was put on by the city. Everyone was ready w/ their game faces on.
It was super nice, b/c EVERYTHING was free. They gave you a card when you walked in & the kids had to visit at least 16 stations/booths and get a stamp at each one. Once the card was filled w/ 16 stamps, we took it to the main desk where it was entered into a drawing for some really nice Easter basket filled w/ all sorts of goodies. They gave away 6 baskets every half hour! We hit up the big inflatable slide first, b/c we got there right when it opened and knew the line for that would be really long later on. It was COLD in the shade, but pleasant in the sunshine.
Of course we had to stop & get a picture w/ the Easter Bunny. I kept my distance, b/c I am terrified of people in costumes. There were also some Chick Fil A cows walking around, so I had to keep my eye on them so they didn’t get close to me. I’m glad Autumn didn’t inherit my phobia.
This was the best we could get of Lex & her family, b/c the sun was so bright!
Autumn had fun visiting this vendor that had spring less trampolines. She got to jump for a few minutes since no one else was in line yet.
She was really excited to get her picture taken w/ a real ballerina.
The place started to fill up pretty quickly. It was nice that they had everything contained in this one area. Autumn was able to walk around & explore without me having to stay right by her side.
Autumn’s daycare had a table set up there, and that was fun to say hi to the owners & a few teachers. There was also a karate and all sorts of fun games for the kids. Autumn & Andrew had fun doing the gunny sack race.
We were there for about an hour & a half and had seen everything we wanted to see. This was the best group picture we could get. We came home, had salad & leftover pizza for lunch, and relaxed for a while.
While the kids were playing Lego's, Lexie & I went outside to hide the Easter eggs. When Olivia got up from her nap we all went outside & started the Easter egg hunt. We told the 3 oldest kids they couldn’t pick up the ones on the grass b/c those were for Olivia & Adam. They had fun hunting for the harder to find eggs.
As you can see, Olivia didn’t want to wear the cute hat Riannon brought out for her. She didn’t quite get the point of the Easter egg hunt, b/c she had more fun taking the eggs out of her bucket & chucking them over her shoulder. It was SO FUNNY!
I really wanted a picture of all the grandkids on the back steps, and this was the best one we could get.
This is after telling everyone to smile & look at the camera at least 7 times.
Jackson’s like, “I’m outta here. No more pics, please.”
Olivia’s like, “Ooooh! Look at that bug on the ground.”
Autumn’s like, “Hurry up, this fake perma-grin is starting to hurt.”
Adam’s like, “Ow I think a fire ant just big me in the side.”
Andrew’s like, “This hurts! This physically hurts! Can we be done please?”
It’s always been a tradition to get a picture of Autumn & Andrew together on the back steps. When they were little, we could get them to give each other a kiss (see HERE for the first one in 2009). This is what happened when I told them to give each other a kiss this year. LOL! They’re too old for that kinda stuff now.
But, we did get a cute side hug.
After all the “EGG-citement” we went back into the house to cool off and spend time together. Olivia looked ADORABLE in this little hat. Nate was telling her to get off the car, b/c that’s not how you sit on it and she just put her hands up and looked at him like, “Who, me? What am I doing wrong?” She’s a cutie.
I made chicken divan for dinner and while it was baking we went on a walk around the neighborhood so the kids could burn off some energy. Jackson kept wanting to race, and I don’t know how Lexie kept running in those flip flops!
It was actually warmer (84 degrees) than we thought it was going to be, so when we got back from our walk we were all hot & sweaty. We stuck our feet in the pool & that cooled us off super quick b/c it was so cold! Jackson was CRAZY & wanted to jump in the pool. So, Lexie held his hand while he jumped off the Shamu shelf & pulled him back out. He loved it & did that at least 20 times.
After we ate & cleaned up dinner Lexie & Autumn & I came home really quick so Autumn & I could throw on some church clothes. Then we went to the Stake Center for the General Women’s Conference. Autumn was being a stinker as you can tell from her pulling faces while we were trying to get a picture together. She ended up falling asleep during the Women’s Conference & even started snoring b/c she was so tired from such a big day.
Riannon didn’t go w/ us b/c some friends from her ward had invited her to go to dinner w/ them before the broadcast. It was a very uplifting & inspiring meeting. I had Nate snap this picture for us when we got home. It’s blurry, but it’s better than nothing. We were for sure missing Mom & wished she could have been w/ us. But, we know she’s where she needs to be serving in South Africa.
