Rest From Weekday Work

Last week sometime as I was reading my scriptures, the inspiration came to me that I need to start having the class presidency come and sit up at the front of the room for opening exercises instead of it being the adult leaders. This is THEIR program, so they should be the ones sitting there for the other young women to look up to. They thought it was so cool that they snapped a pic and I had them text it to me.

I taught in Laurels today and we talked about "What do we know about the nature of the Godhead?" I felt like I was all over the place w/ my thoughts and the things I wanted to convey to them. But, I think when it was all said and done that we had a great conversation. We talked about how a lot of other churches believe in the Trinity, but "we believe these three divine persons constituting a single Godhead are united in purpose, in manner, in testimony, in mission. We believe Them to be filled with the same godly sense of mercy and love, justice and grace, patience, forgiveness, and redemption. I think it is accurate to say we believe They are one in every significant and eternal aspect imaginable except believing Them to be three persons combined in one substance, a Trinitarian notion never set forth in the scriptures because it is not true." That quote is for an EXCELLENT talk by Elder Holland called "The Only True God and Jesus Christ Whom He Hath Sent."

We also briefly discussed the 4 times in the scriptures that it clearly shows they are NOT the same being:

When Christ is baptized
The Mount of Transfiguration
Great Intercessory Prayer
Martyrdom of Stephen

I got to stay after church for BYC (Bishop's Youth Council), so Autumn went home w/ Liz & Liberty. I'm glad the meeting was only about an hour. I went and picked Autumn up and she was showing off her "manly muscles" and how strong she is by being able to pick Jacob up. We stayed for a little bit while Liz & I talked and caught up w/ each other.

We came home, had dinner, and then at 7:00 I went to a Single Adult fireside b/c the speaker is amazing and I love hearing him teach. I'm glad I went and I took a lot of notes. It was a wonderful Sunday, and even though our Sundays are busy and full of meetings, it's great to be busy doing Heavenly Father's work and to get to rest for the usual work of the weekdays.

What a cute class presidency! Our YW is so small we just have a president for each age group and we are always together, we never separate into classes. That is a great quote and a great lesson! Sundays can be very full, but they are the Lord's day. Glad you were able to fill your cup for the week!
